Scale LLP, a national, fully distributed law firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate with at least five years of experience in white collar litigation at a top-tier law firm to support our growing national litigation practice. This role is fully remote, but residence in the DC area is preferred. Our White Collar Defense & Internal Investigation team represents companies and individuals in high-stakes criminal, civil, and regulatory matters. This role offers substantial responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated matters typically handled by larger firms while maintaining a collaborative and flexible working environment. The Opportunity This role offers something rare: as a Scale Associate, you will have the opportunity to work directly with world class attorneys who have practiced in-house, in government, and in the AmLaw 100. You will: - Represent individuals and companies in government and internal investigations, including those conducted by the Department of Justice and state and federal civil enforcement agencies; - Handle all phases of complex criminal and civil litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs; managing discovery; taking and defending depositions; and preparing for trial; - Interface directly with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel; - Coordinate with experts, consultants, and co-counsel on complex matters; and - Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies. About You: - You have at least five years of substantive, hands-on, law firm experience preferably in white collar defense, investigations, or regulatory enforcement. - Ideally, your background includes: - Representing individuals and organizations in government investigations, enforcement actions, and white collar criminal matters: - Conducting legal research, drafting motions, briefs, and memoranda; - Managing discovery, including document review, analysis, and production; - Assisting with internal investigations, witness interviews, and case strategy; - Participating in all aspects of civil litigation, including depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. - Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills. - Strong academic credentials.
