Business Development Manager – Transportation

Momentive

• Grow Industrial Elastomer Sales within targeted Transportation markets, with a strong focus on New Energy Vehicles (NEV) and emerging mobility applications. • Drive business development by identifying and securing new customers, applications, and technologies, including New Product Introductions (NPIs). • Provide technical and application support to customers, ensuring successful integration of silicone solutions into their systems and processes. • Develop a global network by collaborating with commercial teams across the USA, EMEA, and APAC to share best practices, align strategies, and capture cross-regional opportunities. • Manage product developments from concept through commercialization, coordinating with R&D, ADE, and Product Management teams. • Partner with Pole Commercial Leader to design and execute the EMEA Annual Growth Programs, ensuring delivery of financial commitments. • Build a deep understanding of customer needs, including market trends, applications, manufacturing technologies, industry regulations, and value chain dynamics. • Lead commercial activities such as new product launches, pricing initiatives, customer presentations, bid support, and customer user groups, while leveraging the global Marketing organization. • Align with Sales, and Technology leaders to develop and communicate differentiated value propositions that maximize growth and profitability for both new and existing products. • Support the Global Marketing Director in the development and execution of Strategic Business Plans at both global and regional levels.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of silicone elastomers, polymer chemistry, or advanced materials and their applications in industrial or transportation markets.
  • Familiarity with market analysis, commercial strategy, and product lifecycle management.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or technical sales in polymers, elastomers, or related materials industries.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, new product launches, and market expansion.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Track record of customer engagement, account management, or hybrid commercial roles with technical products.
  • Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Understanding of industry regulations, standards, and customer requirements in Transportation, Energy, or Industrial segments.
