Senior Capture Manager – NASA Pursuits
Leidos
• responsible for securing existing and new business opportunities in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and associated commercial markets • developing and executing the overall capture strategy associated with an approved pursuit • collaborating with the business leads to orchestrate all aspects of the bid strategy including cost/price strategy and position to win • providing oversight of the development of all proposal volumes • creating capture teams, overseeing proposal development and fostering a culture of winning ethically • contacting existing clients and partners, communicating the organization’s core capabilities • managing relationships with partners and corporate staff for proposed solution development • participating in business planning activities, including periodic pipeline reviews, operating plan development, bid agenda development, opportunity gate reviews, win theme and discriminator workshops, and proposal reviews • managing all the activities necessary to transform qualified opportunities into wins
Job Requirements
- Excellent communications skills – demonstrated through written and oral presentations at all levels through C-level, development of technical papers, volumes, or similar products
- Experience as a winning Capture Manager on NASA and/or DoD space opportunities.
- Proven network of people and access to related customers – government and industry
- Experience in capturing large business development programs (>$100M Total Contract Value) with emphasis on opportunity qualification and shaping into solution and proposal submission
- Proven record of success managing capture efforts in the Federal contracting space (winning single award >$100M pursuits as capture manager)
- Experience with various contracting vehicles, types of contracting (GSA, SSA, OTA, FAR-based, commercial, etc)
- Demonstrated skills in all areas of business development including: opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competition, team leadership, collaboration, etc.
- Experience in the development of and successful negotiation of teaming agreements
- Experience in the development of competitive pricing strategies and associated cost proposal materials
- Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations
- Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 13+ years of prior relevant experience (additional education, training or experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
