• Work closely with the Controller to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives. • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, contract billing, payroll reconciliation, and more. • Lead the month-end closing process and collaborate with the Controller to prepare, analyze, and deliver accurate financial statements. • Assist the Controller in coordinating and managing annual financial audits and government regulatory compliance audits. • Enhance the utilization of the Unanet ERP system to support company growth. • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals, promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements
- At least 7+ years of accounting experience.
- Minimum of 5 recent years working in government contracting.
- At least 3 years of managerial experience or Accounting Manager.
- Proficiency with Unanet ERP is required; implementation experience is a plus.
- B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance; MBA/MFA and or CPA a plus
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

**What You'll Do** **Financial Operations & Bookkeeping** - Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable - Process and track invoices, payments, and vendor relationships - Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and payment processor accounts (Shopify, PayPal, Stripe, etc.) - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accounting software - Ensure timely payment of all business obligations including vendors, contractors, and service providers **Budgeting & Financial Planning** - Develop and maintain monthly and annual budgets - Monitor actual spending against budgets and flag variances - Forecast cash flow needs and provide recommendations for financial planning - Track and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), marketing spend, and operational expenses **Financial Reporting & Analysis** - Prepare monthly financial reports including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements - Provide clear, actionable insights on financial performance to leadership - Track key financial metrics relevant to DTC e-commerce (customer acquisition cost, average order value, margins, etc.) - Support year-end tax preparation by maintaining organized records and documentation **Compliance & Best Practices** - Ensure compliance with relevant tax obligations and filing deadlines - Maintain organized financial documentation for audit readiness - Implement and refine financial processes and systems as the business grows - Coordinate with external accountants or tax professionals as needed
