Job Description

Project Manager, Fiber Engineering – Construction

Brightspeed

• Developing and monitoring engineering and construction build plans across various network types • Coordinating & creating work schedules to ensure on time delivery for both internal workforce and contracted vendors • Tracking milestone activities for highly complex projects/programs across multiple lines of business both internal and external • Ensuring compliance requirements are adhered to for all regulatory obligations • Ensuring projects meet network readiness dates within budget allotments via strong vendor performance management • Utilizing Cost Per Premise Modeling during design and revision phases • Drive and facilitate actionable data analysis with partner groups (IT, Business, and Vendors) • Providing technical oversight and support to OSP build and Operations teams • Supporting removal of network build roadblocks associated with permitting, contractual interpretation via internal Brightspeed resource, external vendor resources or government bodies • Collaborating with network leadership and business domain leadership to design and implement future state processes that achieve program goals, and end-to-end process engineering objectives • Analyzing, capturing, and interrupting Geographic Information System (GIS) and related IQGeo data • Communicating Training, Job Aids, Methods & Procedures to numerous stakeholders and their teams • Creating and maintaining IT enhancement requirements for fiber design and build organization • Performing User Acceptance Technical Testing • Performing periodic Quality Inspections on the Fiber Build • Willingness to travel periodically for staff meetings, vendor meets, locale relationship building

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years Telecommunication experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, Engineering degree or equivalent practical work experience
  • Project Manager Certification
  • Ability to facility project creation and management in standard PM tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Confluence, JIRA, Service Now)
  • Experience with Telcom Network Design systems (IQGeo, GIS, SmallWorld)
  • Experience with Telcom Facility Record Management tools (O2, BOSS, AMS)
  • Usability & understanding of data visualization tools (PowerBI, Power Apps)
  • Vendor & Contract Administration
  • Usability & understanding of financial systems (Ariba, SAP, Accounts Payable)
  • Ability to create complex Methods & Procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft (More specifically Power Point & Excel), Adobe, and related systems
  • Ability to analyze data to drive strategic business decisions is key
  • Ability to build a cohesive relationship with multiple departments through training, development, and accountability

Qualifications - High school diploma, BS or AA in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related Professional Experience. - Leadership, coaching, and transferring knowledge approach. - Spreadsheet and cost performance tracking is a must. - In-depth knowledge in the Project Controls aspects. - Minimum of five (5) years experience estimating large scale new commercial construction projects including mission critical data centers and structure cable projects. - 10+ years of progressive experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Resource and cost loaded construction schedule development. - EVM (Earned Value Management) reporting. - Knowledge of Agile Construction Management is highly preferred. - Competency with MS Office, Excel, Word, Outlook. - Must be proficient in the use of Bluebeam for all takeoffs of digital drawings. - Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project). - Must prove ability to design, engineer, estimate, and develop a written and graphic representation of the company's proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the company. - Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. - Impeccable problem-solving skills. - Demonstrated detail orientation. - Proficient with reading and understanding digital blueprints of building floor plans and construction designs. - Demonstrated and effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong ability to work in teams and foster confidence in all.
