Product Marketing Director

Propel Software Solutions

COMPANY Propel Software transforms the way product companies work. Our product value management platform connects commercial and product teams to optimize decision making, drive process efficiencies, and engage customers with compelling products and experiences. Propel has a proven track record of improving product quality, speeding time to revenue and profit, and improving customer satisfaction. Recognized as a Deloitte Technology Fast 500 winner and one of Fortune’s Most Innovative Companies in America, Propel is built on Salesforce and drives product success for hyper growth startups, corporate pioneers, and Fortune 500 leaders in the high tech, medtech and consumer goods industries. ROLE As Director of High Tech Industry Marketing, you’ll lead Propel’s market strategy and go-to-market approach for the high technology sector. Reporting to the VP of Product Marketing, you’ll be the industry voice and storyteller—translating market trends, customer needs, and Propel’s capabilities into clear positioning, messaging, and field enablement that drives growth. You’ll partner with Product, Sales, Demand Gen, and Executive Leadership to build a differentiated point of view on the challenges facing high tech manufacturers (digital transformation, product complexity, supply chain resilience, quality/compliance, and AI-driven innovation) and ensure our story resonates with executive buyers across engineering, product, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams. In this role you can expect to: - Become the high-tech manufacturing expert: Build deep knowledge of Propel’s product portfolio, differentiators, and buyer use cases—and be the internal “go-to” for how we win in high tech. - Own industry narrative and point of view: Define and communicate Propel’s perspective on the issues that matter most (faster innovation, supply chain risk, design reuse, quality/compliance, and AI across the product lifecycle). - Lead market and competitive intelligence: Stay close to the market through customer and sales conversations, analyst relationships, and primary/secondary research; translate insights into clear opportunities and recommendations. - Shape strategy and influence the roadmap: Partner tightly with Product Management to prioritize what we build next, and convert capabilities into differentiated positioning and messaging for the high-tech vertical. - Drive integrated campaigns for key personas: Work with Demand Gen/Marketing to plan and execute programs that resonate with engineering, operations, quality, and executive audiences - and support annual marketing planning tied to growth goals. - Own packaging, pricing, and deal support: Help set pricing/packaging aligned to market expectations and competitive context; equip Sales with pricing guidance and support complex deals when needed. - Deliver content and enablement that performs: Create a steady stream of high-impact content (sales enablement, demand gen, analyst/earned media, exec-ready assets), train go-to-market teams, and continuously improve based on performance metrics and market feedback. To be successful in this role you bring: - 10+ years of experience in the high technology manufacturing industry, including sectors such as telecommunications/networking, semiconductor equipment, hardware systems, or connected products. - Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM), quality management systems (QMS), and related enterprise product development and operations technologies such as ERP/MES, CAD. - Demonstrated experience developing industry positioning, thought leadership, and go-to-market strategies that influence executive buyers. - Strong executive communication skills, storytelling ability, and presence with customers, analysts, and senior leadership. - Data-driven decision maker with experience using market insights and performance analytics to guide strategy. - Collaborative team leader who thrives in cross-functional environments and believes no task is too big or too small. - Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills across customers, partners, and internal teams. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. MBA or comparable advanced degree preferred. - Willingness to travel approximately 10 - 20% to company headquarters, customer locations, and industry events. $185,000 - $210,000 a year Please note the salary range shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
