As a Senior Data Scientist at GDIT, your work will provide transformative solutions to our clients’ big-data obstacles and help advance the mission. HOW A DATA SCIENTIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT - Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects - Develops data-driven solutions to complex business challenges. - Applies and integrates predictive modeling and business analysis skills to manage complex, high-volume data from a variety of sources. - Performs data collection and analysis using SQL and Python. - Prepares presentations that reflect the results of data analysis and demonstrate to the client using QuickSuite, Excel, or other AWS Native tools. - Utilizes advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions. - Evaluates the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and gathering techniques. - Ensures the integrity of project data, including data extraction, storage, manipulation, processing and analysis. - Uses predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, efficiencies, process improvements, and other business outcomes. - Works with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions. - May develop processes and machine learning based tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy. - Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned. - Performs additional duties as assigned. - May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: - Bachelor's degree in a Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. - 5+ years of related data science/data analysis experience. - Strong SQL skills, required - AWS Native tools experience (such as QuickSuite, Amazon Q), a plus - Claims data experience, specifically Part D claims, a plus - Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning experience, a plus LOCATION: Remote CLEARANCE: Must have resided in the US for 3 of the past 5 years and pass a CMS background check in order to obtain a Public Trust. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
