Overview The Network & VoIP Technician requires nationwide travel to install and maintain network and VoIP equipment. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background and excellent problem-solving skills. Responsibilities include providing day-to-day support for the network environment, configuring network switches and routers, and assisting in the design and development of scalable, maintainable, and highly available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs. The role also involves establishing and maintaining network performance by building network configurations and connections, troubleshooting network issues, and providing first-level escalation support for network-related problems and support requests. Responsibilities - Assists with establishing networking environment by installing, configuring, testing and documenting the equipment/network systems according to the design and specifications. - Assists with day-to-day networking and telephony tasks to ensure reliability, availability and serviceability within minimal interruption. - Assist in the implementation and management of UCaaS and CCaaS solutions. - Provide support and troubleshooting for UCaaS and CCaaS platforms to ensure seamless communication and customer service operations - Provides technical support, responds to work orders and tickets from the users, analyzes and solves reported network problems. - Assists with network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software and integration testing. - Troubleshoot 802.1x security configurations. - Assist troubleshooting and repair of any network outages (LAN and WAN.) - Evaluate and prioritize tasks assigned to ensure timely completion of projects. - Maintain personal knowledge and skills in the networking field by research and professional training. - Promote teamwork and a positive atmosphere by working with other employees to achieve the goals of the Information Technology department as well as the goals of the company. - Willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilities to meet the objectives of the department and company. - Strive for redundancy and availability of all networking resources. - Serve as next-level support for problem resolution on helpdesk issues. Qualifications Education: - Preferred candidates have a certificate or associate’s degree in electronics, telecommunications, or computer networking Experience: - 1-3 years’ directly related experience - Certification such as CCENT, CCNA, or CompTia Network+ preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel. - Knowledge and understanding of a range of VOIP and networking software and hardware systems and related technologies. - Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel. - Experience managing network equipment using CLI. - Working knowledge of wireless technologies and protocols. - Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), remote access, DCHP, and DNS. - Strong understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, ACL, and VLAN. - Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. - Knowledge of UCaaS and CCaaS platforms and their integration with existing network infrastructure. - Ability to manage and support UCaaS and CCaaS solutions to enhance communication and customer service capabilities.
