Sr. Indirect Tax Analyst Job Description:The successful candidate will be a highly capable, responsible, and hands-on tax professional. A Sr. Indirect Tax Analyst will work in a challenging, fast-paced, and dynamic team environment, supporting the indirect tax and business license compliance processes, and assist the direct tax team as needed.This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Tax. Responsibilities: Prepare indirect tax data files monthly. Prepare Journal entries and GL reconciliations.Work closely with third party tax preparers.Prepare and file miscellaneous gross receipts and a few sales tax returns.Compile indirect tax audit information requests.Comply with company internal controls requirements.Respond to tax notices.File business license applications and renewals.Maintain indirect tax and business license calendars.Obtain and set up customers tax exemption certificates.Set up products in tax software.Research and reply to customer tax questions and billing disputes.Prepare property tax data and work with third party preparer.Prepare and file Canada GST and local indirect tax returns. Assist with corporate tax data gathering and estimated payments calculations. Assist with various ad hoc projects as needed. Required Knowledge and Skills:Prior remote working environment experience necessary.Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities. Strong attention to details. Ability to work effectively with others and independently with a strong sense of ownership. Ability to document and effectively communicate complex tax issues. Flexible, hands-on attitude. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.Three plus (3+) years of indirect tax experience with mid- to large public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department. Preferred Qualifications: Experience using research tools, I.e., Bloomberg Tax. Working knowledge of SAP, NetSuite, Avalara, Sovos, or similar software. Work Environment: Remote work environment. Occasional travel possible. Flexibility for overtime as needed to manage work and filing deadlines. Flexibility to work with multiple U.S. time zones.
