Role Description We are seeking an experienced SAP Payroll Support Consultant to help ensure accurate, reliable payroll operations for a large K-12 public sector environment. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting the systems that ensure educators and school staff are paid correctly and on time. This position focuses on SAP HCM U.S. Payroll support, wage and compensation configuration, salary increase processing, and payroll troubleshooting. You will partner closely with payroll teams, HR leaders, and SAP technical teams to maintain system stability, resolve complex payroll issues, and continuously improve payroll processes. Responsibilities - Provide ongoing SAP HCM Payroll production support, including monitoring payroll runs, resolving errors, and supporting payroll processing cycles. - Troubleshoot and resolve payroll calculation issues, retroactive accounting, tax processing, and time integration issues. - Provide second-level functional support for payroll and HR system issues. - Configure and maintain payroll schemas and rules, wage types and pay components, retroactive accounting functions, payroll posting to finance. - Support the configuration and processing of employee salary increases, pay adjustments, and compensation changes. - Configure and manage wage types associated with raises, bonuses, and adjustments. - Assist with mass pay updates, salary actions, and compensation related payroll impacts. - Support configuration and troubleshooting of payslip generation, payroll output forms and reports. - Support system testing, upgrades, and support pack implementations. - Work with Basis and technical teams to analyze system behavior following upgrades. - Assist with integration support between SAP and external systems, including HR, benefits, and payroll vendors. - Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to diagnose and resolve payroll issues. - Document configuration updates, support resolutions, and system changes. - Provide guidance on public sector payroll practices and compliance considerations. Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on SAP HCM U.S. Public Sector Payroll configuration experience. - Public Sector K-12 education payroll experience is a MUST. - MUST have experience with the following: - Payroll schemas and rules - Wage type configuration - Payroll processing and troubleshooting - Retroactive accounting - Payroll posting to finance - Experience supporting payslip configuration. - Experience supporting integrations with external payroll systems or vendors. - Experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP), SAP ECC and S/4HANA Payroll is a PLUS. - Familiarity with SAP Fiori payroll applications is a PLUS. - Ability to work standard East Coast hours.
