Job Description

Associate Sales Engineer

nue.io

About Nue.io Nue.io is a next-generation CPQ and revenue automation platform designed for modern SaaS and subscription-based businesses. Our mission is simple: empower go-to-market teams to move faster, close smarter, and scale with confidence. With an elegant, no-code interface and deep Salesforce integration, we streamline the entire quote-to-revenue journey — from complex pricing and approvals to seamless renewals. Backed by top-tier investors and trusted by forward-thinking companies, Nue.io is redefining revenue operations for a product-led world. But we’re more than our product — we’re a team built on curiosity, trust, ownership, and a genuine passion for building great things together. We foster a culture where people can do their best work, grow quickly, and make a real impact. And we’re growing! If you're excited by big challenges, smart teammates, and a high-velocity environment, we’d love to meet you. The Opportunity Our Solutions Engineering team is doing incredible work, but right now, roughly 70% of their time goes toward building and configuring client demos. That leaves less room for the high-level strategic work that wins deals. That's where you come in. This is a hands-on, build-first role for someone who loves getting into the weeds, learning fast, and taking ownership. You'll be the engine behind the demo experiences that help close some of our most complex enterprise deals. What You'll Do - Own the build side of complex demo environments, including multi-revenue model configurations, pricing scenarios, and CPQ/billing workflows in Nue.io - Collaborate directly with Senior SEs to scope, build, and maintain demo assets tailored to prospect-specific use cases - Manage a library of reusable demo components, data sets, and configurations that can be rapidly deployed for new deals - Participate in discovery calls and internal deal reviews to understand what needs to be built and why - Iterate quickly on demo builds based on feedback from SEs, AEs, and prospects - Help document build processes and best practices so the team scales efficiently - Grow into a full SE role by developing product expertise, customer-facing skills, and domain knowledge over time What We're Looking For - Recent graduate or early-career professional with a technical aptitude and a builder's mindset - Comfortable working in complex SaaS tools; prior exposure to CPQ, billing, ERP, CRM, or revenue operations platforms is a strong plus - Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn demo builds live or die by the data - Ability to move fast without breaking things (and fix things when you do) - Curious, coachable, and hungry, you ask good questions and don't wait to be told what to do next - Strong communication skills; you can articulate what you built and why it matters - A genuine interest in B2B SaaS sales and the enterprise buying process Bonus Points - Experience with Salesforce, Stripe, NetSuite, or similar platforms - Familiarity with revenue lifecycle concepts: quoting, contracts, billing, renewals, accounting - You've built demos, sandbox environments, or technical POCs in any context What Success Looks Like In your first 30 days, you've learned the Nue.io platform deeply enough to build a standard demo environment from scratch. By 90 days, you're leading demo builds for active deals with minimal guidance. By six months, you will hopefully be helping the SEs spend significantly more time in front of customers, and less time building, because of the work you're doing. Why Nue.io - Direct mentorship from experienced enterprise SEs with a clear path to a full SE role - Front-row seat to complex, high-value enterprise deals from day one - A small, high-trust team where your work is visible and your contributions matter - A company that's growing incredibly fast, with amazing customers and wants someone interested in growing with it What We Offer: - Competitive compensation and benefits that reward your talent and impact. - Comprehensive health, vision, dental, and life insurance - A front-row seat in the Silicon Valley tech ecosystem, where you’ll work on cutting-edge challenges shaping the future of SaaS, finance, and payments. - The opportunity to build truly groundbreaking products — your work won’t just support the business; it will influence how companies around the world monetize and grow. - A high-energy, collaborative culture where smart, supportive teammates push each other to learn fast, think boldly, and do the best work of their careers. - Room to grow, lead, and make your mark in a fast-scaling company that values creativity, ownership, and ambition.

Who we are Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role: As a Field Sales Engineer at Samsara, you’d be an integral part of a diverse team working to help modernize essential industries through the application of cutting-edge IoT solutions. Your work would directly contribute to a cleaner, more efficient, and productive supply chain by creating safer roadways, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and providing a consolidated platform for connecting operations. Our daily customer engagements include conversations around how IoT can positively impact logistics management, workplace safety programs, fleet maintenance strategies, global asset management, and regulatory compliance. This means a successful SE at Samsara will develop a thorough understanding of the application of IoT hardware and sensors, hands-on hardware installation strategies, managing data collection over carrier networks, presenting a robust cloud infrastructure, and building third-party system integrations (via our open API) to ensure the best technical solution is presented to Samsara customers. This is a remote position open to candidates within the Eastern time zone. This position requires travel up to 50% of the time and proximity to an international airport is preferred. You should apply if: - You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely. - You have an innate curiosity about how businesses work: One day you’ll meet with someone in waste management and the next you may be learning about the inner workings of a food distribution center. Our top sales team members seek to learn the ins and outs of the businesses they support in order to make a larger impact. - You build genuine relationships with your customers: The industries we serve have relied on pen-and-paper solutions for years and haven’t been met with the type of technology we offer. Our customers value earned trust and human relationships built over time. - You want to be with the best: Samsara’s high-performance culture means you’ll be surrounded by the best and challenged to go farther than you have before. - You are a team player: At Samsara, sales is a team sport. We help each other out by sharing best practices and focusing on winning as a team. In this role, you will: - Become an expert on Samsara products: where the rubber of cutting-edge tech (IoT, AI, computer vision) meets the road of driving digital transformation for physical operations. - Articulate to prospects how businesses like theirs use Samsara today to solve obstacles common to their industry. - Deliver the work products that get deals done. Think discoveries, demonstrations, value assessments, proof of concept implementations, etc. - Walk installers through any scenario, explaining best practices for installing Samsara products and helping build deployment plans. - Write sample proof-of-concept scripts against our open API that solve real-world problems for companies that deliver essential services (for example), and document them for your fellow SE’s to use. - Open the door for deeper entrenchment into accounts (integration, upsell, cross-sell) by becoming a consultant to your customers. - Act as a liaison between Samsara’s product and sales teams, translating technical feedback and enrolling the right customers in our beta programs. - Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. Minimum requirements for the role: - Bachelor’s of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university. - 5 years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity. - Possess the attitude and aptitude for continuous growth and development. - Ability to influence stakeholders based on your technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes and change management. - Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. - Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations. - Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems. - Experience with the following concepts: technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
