Senior Staff Core Infrastructure Engineer – Platforms Orchestration
Kraken Digital Asset Exchange
• Extend and automate the existing container orchestration platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and performance • Work closely with SREs from different teams to reduce their cognitive load related to the orchestration platform • Implement and maintain security best practices for the orchestration platform, ensuring the security and availability of our systems • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues as well as provide guidance and support to other team members • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure the smooth operation of our critical systems
Job Requirements
- Strong background in Linux, Networking, and Distributed Systems
- Significant hands-on experience with Nomad container orchestration platform in a high availability, production environment
- Hands-on experience with other HashiCorp tools, such as Vault and Consul
- Advanced proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Extensive experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure
- Strong security mindset and experience implementing security best practices in a complex environment
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Significant experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, Go, Bash
- Passion for improving processes, products, and the developer experience for engineering teams
- Knowledgeable about continuous integration and delivery best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive while working independently in a team-based environment
- Self-starter, capable of context-switching between various projects, codebases, and concepts
