Role Description The Sourcing Category Manager will develop the overall sourcing strategy for products purchased within an assigned commodity(ies). This will include: - Market research for strategic decision making around source selection and inventory policy - Supplier relationship management - Strategic contract negotiation - Escalation support for supply disruptions Key components of success include: - A high level of service and performance from strategic suppliers - Establishing and exceeding cost reduction targets - A high level of engagement with NPI and Global Procurement to promote use of strategic suppliers This corporate global role is intended to provide remote support from Costa Rica or United States only. Travel might be required at 25% based on business needs. Main Responsibilities: - Follows all cGMP and SOP’s as defined by Viant Medical policies, practices and procedures to ensure that FDA and ISO regulations and quality standards are met - Provide market intelligence (pricing trends, market shifts, key supplier transactions, competitor threats, opportunities, etc.) on a regular basis to key business stakeholders and executives to support decision making around cost and inventory opportunities - Establish and manage contracts with key suppliers to ensure supply continuity and price stability - Negotiate favorable payment and commercial terms for strategic and non-strategic suppliers within the assigned commodity base - Conduct Supplier Business Reviews with strategic supplier partners to review performance, price history, and quality - Identify cost reduction opportunities, negotiate best pricing using should-cost modeling, and implement pricing programs into Viant manufacturing sites to drive year over year cost reductions - Support all cost and supply programs from inception through implementation to ensure full results are realized - Provide escalation support to Viant manufacturing sites to close supply gaps, address quality issues, or improve overall service and performance by leveraging key relationships with strategic suppliers and knowledge of the commodity market - Create sourcing strategies that support Viant and Viant’s customers from New Product Introduction through product retirement in different volume and complexity profiles - Establish sourcing contracts providing inventory flexibility through Kanban, consignment, or other JIT-focused replenishment methods - Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field preferred - APICS Certification (Preferred) - High level of English proficiency (verbal and written) required to effectively communicate with global stakeholders, suppliers, and senior leadership Requirements - 5-7 years of experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement function - Experience managing strategic sourcing or category management within the metals category (Preferred) - Experience working within a regulated industry such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or pharmaceuticals (Must) - Demonstrated capability to identify opportunities, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies (Must) Skills/Competencies - Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively within all levels of the organization - Conflict management and the ability to negotiate - Organized and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities - Highest ethical standards and professional integrity - Demonstrated decision making skills - Teamwork orientated - Hands on, collaborative, decisive self-starter - Effective presentation skills and able to deliver insightful messages to external and internal audiences - Ability to work under pressure - Ability to effectively communicate with suppliers and internal business partners - Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects and manage priorities accordingly - Instills a sense of urgency and drives problems towards resolution - Excellent written, oral and presentations skills - Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Power BI Company Description Viant is a global medical device design and manufacturing services provider that partners and innovates with customers to provide the highest quality, life enhancing medical devices. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management or related field preferred
