Job Description A day in the life of an Inside Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As an Inside Property Adjuster within the Property Central Specialty Office, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Working remotely from your home office, your primary responsibility will involve virtually inspecting damages, investigating coverage, preparing estimates, and settling insurance claims promptly and accurately. You will be interacting with customers, contractors, and vendors through various software platforms such as Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration. This communication will take place through different channels, including voice calls, email, and text messages. You'll wear a few hats that will require a level of experience: - The Customer Service Expert –you’ll live into Allstate’s Claims Culture by caring, empowering, and restoring, and you will accomplish that by being compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each Property claim. You lead with empathy, always. - The Investigator – you’ll confidently and independently investigate property claims by performing detailed reviews of damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage. - The Effective Communicator – you’ll use phone, emails and sometimes even video chat with customers to help them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process. You’ll also incorporate a specific approach to claim handling to offer the customer their preference of communication to efficiently discuss their claim needs and keep them updated on the claim progress. - The Negotiator – You will evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third party carriers and claimants, in accordance with all legal and business standard methodologies. With negotiations, you will incorporate tactics in handling challenging and complex situations. - The Problem Solver –you’ll utilize multiple tools to get the job done in a fast-paced environment, including estimate tools, job aids, and additional settlement platforms, all while using your sharp critical thinking skills. - The Recorder – you’ll protect the company financially by executing policies along policy agreements, and you keep a clear record of your work in a claims system that you will be trained on. You’ll accomplish this by ensuring timely and accurate documentation is completed as you work on each claim. Schedule: - Monday–Friday; 12:00PM - 8:30PM EST with rotational Saturdays duty. - This role involves taking care of customers in their times of need. As a result, you must be willing to work some weekends and extended hours if necessary. Preferred Qualifications: - 1+ years of previous customer service experience. - Previous Property Inside Adjusting experience preferred. - Proficiency in using Xactimate and other relevant software for virtual assessments is preferred. - Ability to assess property damages and accurately determine claim coverage. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills to interact with customers and stakeholders remotely. - Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a virtual work environment. - Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality and efficient claim resolutions. - This position is not available to Alaska, California, Hawaii, Washington or Puerto Rico residents. • Responsible for performing initial and concurrent insurance authorization securement, clinical submission and denial prevention for all patients admitted to the hospital for clients. • Confirm that a patient’s health insurance(s) is active and covers the patient’s procedure; may be completed multiple times during, and after a patient’s visit/stay. • Confirm what benefits of a patient’s upcoming visit/stay are covered by the patient’s insurance(s) including exact coverage, effective date of the policy, coverage limitations / requirements, and patient liabilities for the type of service(s) provided. • Check benefits to determine deductible, coinsurance, and copayment amounts due. • Ensure payer requirements including verify and document insurance eligibility; confirm and document benefits. • Review and submission of clinical documentation to ensure the treatment/services are appropriate for the diagnosis as determined. • Obtain and verify that insurance authorizations are obtained and maintained on designated patients. • Ensure that initial and all subsequent authorizations are obtained in a timely manner. • Work to reduce and eliminate authorization denials. • Review and analyze patient visit information to determine whether authorization is needed and understand payor specific criteria to appropriate secure authorization and provide clinical to support medical necessity. • Ensure that services provided to eligible members are within benefit plan and appropriate contracted providers are being utilized. • Responsible for reviewing visit data to ensure appropriate and accurate information is provided to the payor to support the authorization request and follow-up timely.
