IT Support Engineer

Monarch Money

• Own IT support operations — serve as the initial point of contact for hardware, software, and access requests across our fully distributed team, triaging and resolving issues efficiently with a high standard for response time and quality. • Build Scalable Automations and AI Workflows — build and maintain automations and AI workflows using tools like Okta Workflows, n8n, OpenAI, Claude and similar platforms to streamline provisioning, requests, and routine operational work. • Administer core SaaS tools and access management — manage and improve user provisioning, de-provisioning, and identity governance across Monarch's software stack (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and others) through Okta and ConductorOne, partnering closely with HR and Ops on onboarding and off-boarding workflows. • Support and strengthen our security posture — help implement and maintain IT security best practices including endpoint protection, SSO/MFA enforcement, and compliance with data privacy standards. • Manage device lifecycle and MDM — oversee procurement, configuration, deployment, and off-boarding of employee devices through our MDM platform (Kandji) and logistics partners, ensuring security and compliance at every stage. • Identify opportunities to scale and improve — proactively spot inefficiencies in our IT processes, recommend and deploy tooling improvements, and help build scalable documentation and self-service resources as the team grows.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on IT Support, Engineering, and/or Systems Administration experience (preferably in a remote or distributed environment).
  • Experience supporting and administering MacOS devices, common SaaS tools, and employee endpoints in a cloud-first environment (experience with Kandji/Iru strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance Administration (IGA) concepts such as SSO, SCIM, least privilege, role-based access, provisioning, and de-provisioning (Okta experience required).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex automations using Okta Workflows, n8n, or similar iPaaS/automation tools as well as incorporating and working with 3rd party apis.
  • Comfort operating in a security-conscious environment, including device compliance work, access audits, and partnering with Security on process and controls.
  • Experience within a high-growth B2C or SaaS startup environment.

You will perform duties using computers and software programs that assists in diagnostics and reporting of various type of building automation and mechanical systems. This will be a remote working position. Computer hardware and application will be provided along with phone applications needed to support branch operations.  You will be expected to operate and utilize various software applications to diagnose and report on building automation system operations with minimal oversight.  Training will be provided, however, advanced computer knowledge and operation will be required As a member of the Connected Controls Service Team you will work with other analysts with various skill sets including building automation diagnostics, energy analysis and HVAC system diagnostics.  The future will be focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced machine learning.  You will help build the future of our diagnostics platform to support our service organization to keep Johnson Controls on the leading edge of a cost effective, technically advanced, service delivery business. How you will do it - Analyze performance and condition data utilizing engineering principles and software tools. - Perform Daily/Weekly Dashboard Review and deep dive analytics on remotely connected buildings - Support setup and commissioning activities for the Connected Service platform. - Generate reports with observations and recommendations on the performance, condition, operation and maintenance of building equipment and systems. - Review reports generated by others to insure quality and accuracy. - Direct day to day activities related to data analysis, report generation, and field support. - Provide advanced support to field account teams for interpreting the data and reports to improve the operations and maintenance of building equipment and systems. - Work with the field teams to improve general operation and maintenance processes. - Research new equipment and system types identifying and improving new data analysis techniques and rules to expand the scope and quality of Connected Services. - Train other team members and field technicians on data analysis, report generation and field support. - Direct software developers and IT resources to improve the quality, automate the delivery, and increase the reliability of Connected Services applications - Prepare, write and/or approve internal and field process documentation on the startup and delivery of Connected Services. - Work with other cross functional teams to develop and deploy new services to be delivered by the field and Connected Controls Service Team. - Work directly with end customers to advise on maintenance activities driving additional revenue streams for JCI in the service business. What we look for Required - Minimum of 10 years’ experience with Metasys and HVAC System, diagnostics, maintenance, repair and trouble shooting. - Knowledge of HVAC equipment, building automation systems and energy management and monitoring systems. - Able to solve complex service operational and maintenance problems using data and analytical models. - Able to communicate professionally with customers at all levels, internal and external. - Demonstrated leadership abilities, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. - Advanced computer skills and service business application tools are a key part of future development in this position. - Extensive knowledge in communication protocols including but not limited to N2, MSTP, Ethernet, and BACnet.
