• Build a detection engineering program and supporting infrastructure • Author and maintain detections and build alerting pipelines that feed triage and incident response • Investigate and respond to security incidents • Drive security configuration and policy for enterprise AI platforms (Claude Enterprise, OpenAI) • Use AI daily to transform how detection, response and corporate security operates — building LLM-augmented workflows for detection, triage, automation, and internal tooling • Partner with IT to harden SaaS platforms and endpoints (Iru/Kandji MDM, CrowdStrike Falcon EDR) • Mature DLP program covering SaaS, email, endpoints, and AI prompt exfiltration paths

• Lead and grow the Application & Product Security squad, defining the team's charter, KPIs, and roadmap and holding the team accountable to measurable outcomes • Combining strong engineering execution with strategic leadership to drive the squad forward • Own the strategic direction of product, application, and AI security — translating business and regulatory risk into a clear, prioritized program • Drive vulnerability management end-to-end with urgency, owning reporting across Monarch's product surface area • Lead offensive security programs including penetration testing, bug bounty, and threat detection & incident response • Embed AI-first, automated approaches to securing the engineering pipeline and SDLC — replacing manual processes with AI agents where appropriate

• Keep the founders focused on the highest-leverage work. Own end-to-end calendar management for three co-founders, each with a distinct operating rhythm. Exercise independent judgment on prioritization, conflicts, and time protection. • Ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Triage founder communications, route cross-functional requests, and maintain systems for tracking commitments, action items, and follow-ups. Know when to handle, route, or escalate without being told. • Set founders up to walk into every room prepared. Own prep for board meetings, investor conversations, offsites, and leadership events end to end. Agendas, materials, briefing context, logistics. • Manage key relationships and correspondence on behalf of the founding team. Outreach, thank-you notes, proactive contact management. • Build and refine your own workflows using AI. You'll join a team running on AI tools daily. We expect you to use AI to accelerate your work and continuously raise your own bar.

• Lead and develop a team of CS Leads, providing direction, coaching, and ongoing feedback to support their growth and effectiveness • Manage workload capacity and prioritization across the CS Lead team to ensure balanced coverage and high-quality outcomes • Partner with the Head of CS to grow the CS Lead team, including hiring an additional lead (2 currently on team) • Own customer escalations, providing direct resolution or looping in senior leadership as needed • Identify and surface recurring issues (both for customers and in team workflows); drive planning and execution of long-term solutions in partnership with CS Ops • Review ticket queue reports regularly to identify quality assurance gaps and proactively flag escalation risks • Develop and maintain internal documentation and training resources to support CS Lead effectiveness and team consistency • Manage and update customer-facing Help Center content to ensure accuracy and clarity • Represent CS cross-functionally and lead or contribute to department projects and process improvements

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Growth team, you’ll play a key role in expanding Monarch’s reach and helping more households take control of their financial lives. You’ll lead technical execution across projects that drive user acquisition, activation, and retention and collaborate closely with teammates across engineering, product, marketing, and design. Qualifications - 5+ years of software engineering experience. - Strong coding skills in Python, TypeScript, and React. - Experience leading the feasibility and execution of complex projects. - Technical vision and ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural goals. - Strong product intuition and a passion for building consumer experiences users love, backed by strong quantitative and qualitative understanding of product experiences. - Experience leveraging and extending A/B testing frameworks, experimentation infrastructure, and robust internal analytics. - Bias towards action, and good instinct to decide on the appropriate level of rigor/effort for experiments (when to cut corners, when to invest for the future). - Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical colleagues (including marketing, product, design, and data science). Nice to Have's - Experience building consumer subscription or SAAS products. - Prior fintech experience. - Experience with analytics tooling including Segment or Amplitude. - Experience with billing systems. • Own IT support operations — serve as the initial point of contact for hardware, software, and access requests across our fully distributed team, triaging and resolving issues efficiently with a high standard for response time and quality. • Build Scalable Automations and AI Workflows — build and maintain automations and AI workflows using tools like Okta Workflows, n8n, OpenAI, Claude and similar platforms to streamline provisioning, requests, and routine operational work. • Administer core SaaS tools and access management — manage and improve user provisioning, de-provisioning, and identity governance across Monarch's software stack (Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and others) through Okta and ConductorOne, partnering closely with HR and Ops on onboarding and off-boarding workflows. • Support and strengthen our security posture — help implement and maintain IT security best practices including endpoint protection, SSO/MFA enforcement, and compliance with data privacy standards. • Manage device lifecycle and MDM — oversee procurement, configuration, deployment, and off-boarding of employee devices through our MDM platform (Kandji) and logistics partners, ensuring security and compliance at every stage. • Identify opportunities to scale and improve — proactively spot inefficiencies in our IT processes, recommend and deploy tooling improvements, and help build scalable documentation and self-service resources as the team grows.
