Senior Managing Director, Data Science & AI
Cayuse Holdings
• Lead and advise on data science and AI content for federal, state, and local government and commercial RFP responses, offering technical expertise and strategic framing that set Cayuse proposals apart in competitive procurements. • Identify data and AI opportunities in ongoing activities and RFP responses across service lines. • Review and strengthen civil services and commercial RFP responses for data and AI relevance, identifying opportunities where Cayuse's workforce model and mission create competitive differentiation. • Work closely with Cayuse’s Proposal Center of Excellence to create reusable proposal frameworks, capability narratives, and case study content that reduce response effort and improve consistency across bids. • Perform a leadership role in the Atlanta commercial and State government markets, identifying opportunities and working with Commercial and Civil BU’s to capture market share. • Serve in an advisory role to Cayuse's Business Unit Executives and BU senior leadership regarding data and AI capability roadmap development, tooling decisions, and the sequencing of investments needed to build a scalable data and AI consulting practice. • Design and deliver internal AI training programs customized for each Cayuse service line and include practical case studies. • Coordinate, develop and deliver AI literacy sessions for Umatilla Indian Reservation students, translating the practical importance of data and AI into terms that resonate with the communities Cayuse supports and the workforce it is building. • Speak at conferences and client events on topics such as data strategy, AI adoption, Responsible AI, and workforce reskilling to increase Cayuse's visibility as a trusted data and AI resource in the markets it serves. • Represent Cayuse as needed in strategic client conversations and executive briefings, providing technical credibility.
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree in quantitative fields such as statistics, data science, computer science, or quantitative methods.
- Over 20 years of progressive experience in data science, AI/ML, and technology strategy, in senior advisory roles across multiple industries.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering large-scale AI training and upskilling programs across diverse audiences and organizational levels.
- Proven success in leading or contributing to RFP responses involving data science and AI capabilities for federal, state, and local government, and commercial clients.
- Experience working across organizational boundaries — across service lines internally and across stakeholder levels externally — with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical decision-makers.
- External presence in the data science and AI field through experience, publications, conference presentations, or advisory roles.
- Familiarity with federal AI policy, responsible AI frameworks, and the regulatory environment shaping AI adoption in government contracting.
- Public Trust, Secret or Top-Secret Clearance appreciated.
- Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
- Must possess problem-solving skills.

Data Scientist We’re building a universal data API that lets brokers, TMSs, fintechs, and fleets connect to truck and trailer data through a single integration. Catena sits beneath the freight ecosystem, normalizing real-time telematics and execution data so platforms can automate workflows, reduce risk, and make better decisions. As a Data Scientist at Catena, you’ll focus on turning large-scale, messy logistics data into clear insights, proof points, and decision-ready outputs that power product direction, GTM motion, and customer conviction. This is not a research-only or academic role. You’ll work directly with real production data from hundreds of thousands of trucks and trailers and collaborate closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to show what’s possible with Catena’s data layer. Role Summary You’ll own the analysis, exploration, and synthesis of Catena’s data to support three core objectives: - Prove value to TMSs, visibility platforms, brokers, and shippers - Enable GTM with concrete demos, sandboxes, and ROI-driven examples - Inform product strategy with real-world patterns from the network You’ll help create large-scale sandboxes, identify patterns like capacity availability, lane behavior, dwell, and utilization, and translate those into narratives customers can immediately understand.
