Job Description

Commissioning Engineer

Switzerland Global Enterprise

• Execute commissioning procedures for utility-scale BESS systems, including battery management systems (BMS), inverters, switchgear, and SCADA interfaces • Perform pre-functional and functional testing of all system components according to commissioning plans • Conduct point-to-point checks, insulation resistance tests, performance tests, and system startup • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to electrical, control, and communication systems • Document test results, prepare commissioning reports, and maintain logs of issues and resolutions • Coordinate with lead commissioning engineer, project managers, subcontractors and help ensure project milestones are met • Ensure all commissioning activities adhere to safety, quality, and environmental standards • Support remote and onsite troubleshooting post-commissioning as required and perpetuate field engineering and/or product knowledge • Perform administrative functions; such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis

Job Requirements

  • Minimum HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Previous experience of commissioning or field service experience in utility-scale renewable energy or electrical installation projects
  • Experience with BESS technologies, PCS (power conversion systems), and SCADA/PLC systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work at remote project sites for extended durations
