Role Description The Tax Manager oversees the delivery of a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations to multiple clients. This is a leadership position that is proactive and solution-oriented, offering depth of experience to our clients in the fast-paced world of start-up accounting. This position reports to the Head of Escalon’s Tax Practice. A successful Tax Manager at Escalon has a high level of technical tax proficiency, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow as a professional; is self-motivated and responsible possessing strong communication, interpersonal, analytic, and time management skills; enjoys the creative aspects of our business and is driven to find the best possible outcome for our clients. Day-to-Day Responsibilities also include: - Oversee the timely and accurate preparation and filing of corporate and partnership income tax returns, including multi-state and international reporting. - Support the development and mentorship of junior tax staff. - Assist with implementing effective income tax planning strategies. - Collaborate with our internal Controllers and CFOs on various income tax engagements. - Liaise with internal accounting teams on various income tax questions and requests. - Assist with income tax estimates, projections, and other special tax projects. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, and/or equivalent work experience. - 7+ years in a busy, complex tax environment. - CPA, JD, or EA license required. - Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office suite. Requirements - Master’s degree in Taxation preferred but not required. - Experience with tech start-up organizations is preferred but will train the right person.
