New Left Accelerator
The Role The Finance & Operations Manager will provide strategic guidance and lead day-to-day operations to ensure New Left Accelerator (NLA) and The Capacity Shop (TCS) can deliver the highest-quality programs and services to the groups we support. Responsible for managing multiple accounting, systems, processes, and fundraising functions, this role requires someone with strong attention to detail, clear communication, and an adaptive, solution-oriented approach to operations. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who submit their application by February 27, 2026. What You’ll Do: Contract and Vendor Management - Maintain a contract management system that tracks timelines, documents, and deliverables for vendors, consultants, and program partners - Manage and update contract templates - Draft and execute contracts for third-party affiliates - Liaise with external and internal stakeholders to ensure up-to-date and accurate contracts - Work in close partnership with the Program Operations Manager to manage program consultant contracts Financial Operations - Maintain processes and systems that support the enforcement of our financial policy and internal controls - Ensure efficiency and timeliness of accounts payable (heavy volume of vendor management), including managing all documentation processes - Manage employee expense reimbursement processes - Prepare receivables to the accounting firm - Manage process for credit card expenses - Support bookkeeping in compliance with GAAP Internal Systems and Staff Support - Manage and maintain the organization’s technology tools, such as Google Suites, Asana, LastPass, Bill.com, and Airtable, including updates and upgrades - Work closely with the Program Operations Manager to ensure systems are meeting the needs of programmatic work - Audit the organization’s systems regularly with input from staff and make recommendations for improvements - Manage the structure, organization, and storage of digital files to ensure compliance, security, and efficiency - Develop, update, and ensure ongoing compliance with the organization’s various operations policies, such as data retention, risk management, digital security - Support staff in their use and troubleshooting of NLA's digital tools - Provide logistics support for in-person events and convenings - Assist with purchasing operational expenses, including staff office supplies, travel, and other expenses. - Lead consultant and staff operational onboarding Skills and Qualifications: - Strong commitment to progressive values and NLA’s vision and organizational values - At least 5 years of relevant experience in operations for movement-building organizations - Strong understanding of multi-entity nonprofit operations, including 501(c)(3)s, 501(c)(4)s, political campaigns, and/or PACs - Relevant accounting, bookkeeping, and/or budgeting experience with organizations that have an operating budget of at least $1 million - Ability to manage multiple workflows, projects, stakeholders, and timelines with strong organization and follow-through - Ability to balance structure with flexibility while juggling competing priorities - Experience with Bill.com, Asana, QuickBooks, Google Suite (especially as an Admin), LastPass, DocuSign Compensation, Benefits, and Position Details Direct Reports: 0, but could change as the organization grows Hours: Full Time (approximately 40 hours/week) Location: Remote, U.S.-based (applicants must reside and be able to legally work in the United States); Some domestic travel required (1-3 times per year) Annual Salary: $75,000 to $90,000 Benefits: NLA offers a competitive benefits package available to all full-time employees, including: - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short-term Disability, and Health FSA - Flexible paid time off, including vacation and sick time, 11 paid holidays, 1-week summer break, and 1-week winter break - Professional development stipend - Working from home stipend - Retirement plan with up to 4% matching Equal Opportunity Employer New Left Accelerator and The Capacity Shop provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
