Job Title: Hearing Representative – Workers' Compensation Defense (California) Location: Remote (California) Employment Type: Full-Time About the Opportunity LoveFreedom Solution is partnering with a respected legal services organization to identify an experienced Hearing Representative specializing in California Workers Compensation Defense. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a litigation-driven environment and has strong experience managing lien files, negotiating settlements, and representing clients before the Workers Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB). The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of California workers compensation procedures, experience rating permanent disability under the AMA Guides, and the ability to resolve complex lien disputes through negotiation and litigation strategy. Key Responsibilities Manage a full caseload of workers compensation lien files from initial review through final resolution. Review and analyze medical records to determine permanent disability ratings in accordance with the AMA Guides. Evaluate and apply apportionment when assessing permanent disability and claim exposure. Represent clients before WCAB judges during Mandatory Settlement Conferences, Status Conferences, and walk-through settlements. Lead negotiations with lien claimants to efficiently resolve disputes and drive favorable outcomes. Prepare and draft legal documentation including settlement agreements, declarations, and position statements. Maintain consistent communication with clients including employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators. Provide regular written case updates and status summaries to clients. Collaborate with internal legal teams to ensure cases move efficiently through the workers compensation process. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in California Workers Compensation Defense. Demonstrated experience managing lien files and resolving lien disputes. Strong working knowledge of the AMA Guides for rating permanent disability. Experience reviewing medical documentation and understanding apportionment. Comfort appearing before WCAB judges in settlement conferences and hearings. Proven ability to negotiate settlements effectively. Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting legal documentation. Strong organizational and caseload management skills.
