The Job: The Senior Manager, Tax Technology & Automation will serve as a strategic partner, collaborating with various tax and business functions to drive process optimization and technology integration. This role will drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure robust controls, and support the tax compliance and reporting functions by leveraging technology solutions. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure tax processes are efficient, well-controlled, and supported by advanced analytics and technology solutions. The role will oversee one team member and collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors playing a key role in supporting Stanley Black & Decker’s commitment to operational excellence. As a Senior Manager, Tax Technology & Automation, you’ll work as a remote employee, and you’ll get to: - Maintain and support key tax software platforms (ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Corptax), including software updates, data management, and system testing. - Oversee legal entity hierarchies and ensure accurate mapping and integration of financial data across systems. - Partner with tax, finance, IT, and other business functions to identify, analyze, and optimize tax-related processes across the organization to align tax technology initiatives with organizational objectives. - Lead initiatives to implement and enhance tax technology solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and best practices. - Utilize advanced data analytics tools (such as Alteryx, Power BI, or similar) to drive process improvements, data-driven decision making, and reporting automation. - Manage and support tax technology projects, including system upgrades, integrations, and deployment of new tools. - Facilitate knowledge sharing and training on tax technology and analytics solutions across functions. - Develop and maintain documentation for optimized processes, technology usage, and control frameworks. - Mentor, coach, and develop direct report, fostering a culture of growth and high performance. - Monitor emerging trends in tax technology, analytics, and regulatory requirements, recommending innovative solutions. - Support the VP, Tax Compliance and Reporting on strategic tax transformation and technology initiatives. You also have: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred. - 8+ years of progressive experience in tax operations, process optimization, and technology implementation within a global, matrixed organization. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Excel, Pivot Tables, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) - Advanced proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, etc.) and experience leveraging data to improve processes and reporting. - Experience with tax technology platforms (e.g., ONESOURCE Tax Provision and Indirect Tax, CorpTax, SAP, Oracle) and process automation tools. - Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to supervise, develop, and motivate staff. - Experience in a manufacturing or industrial company is a plus. - Commitment to Stanley Black & Decker’s values of integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
