We are looking for an All-Pro Payroll Superstar for our growing team Payroll Specialist (fully remote) $25.00 - $30.00 per hour As our Payroll Superstar, you are the guardian of pay accuracy and compliance. You will own the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring that every paycheck is correct, compliant with federal/state/local regulations, and delivered on time. This is a fully-remote role. What You’ll Do (The "Superstar" Mission) - Process High-Volume Payroll: Manage end-to-end bi-weekly/weekly payroll for NUMBER OF employees across multiple states. - Accuracy Audit: Meticulously review timesheets, pay rates, deductions, bonuses, and overtime to ensure zero errors. - Compliance Guardian: Stay updated on changing tax laws, benefits regulations, and labor laws to maintain 100% compliance. - Employee Support: Act as the go-to person for employee payroll inquiries, resolving issues with empathy and professionalism. - System Ownership: Maintain and update payroll/HRIS systems (ADP, Paycom) and ensure seamless integration. - Reporting: Prepare accurate, timely payroll reports for management, finance, and auditors. - Year-End Management: Lead the year-end process, including W-2 review and distribution. - End-to-End Processing: Manage full-cycle payroll (bi-weekly/semi-monthly) for high-headcount organizations. - Compliance & Tax: Oversee payroll tax filings, ensure adherence to multi-state labor laws, and manage year-end reporting (W-2s). - System Optimization: Maintain and audit ADP - Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation to reduce errors and improve processing time. - Inquiry Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex employee pay and tax questions. Who You Are (Qualifications & Skills) - Experience: 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience. - Software Expert: Advanced proficiency in ADP, Sage and Excel - Detail Obsessed: You catch errors that others miss. Accuracy is your middle name. - Compliance Savvy: Strong knowledge of multi-state tax laws and garnishment processing. - Independent & Reliable: You own your work, meet deadlines, and take initiative. - Confidentiality: You handle sensitive personnel data with discretion and integrity. - Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) is a major plus. Work Environment The employee will be working in the confines of their own home location. Travel Minimal travel is required for training or company meetings as needed.
