Legal Compliance Manager

Thumbtack

• Lead and mature Thumbtack’s privacy and AI compliance programs to ensure they are well designed, effectively executed, and aligned with regulatory requirements. • Own and operate core compliance processes, including DPIAs, regulatory audit workflows, data mapping, consent management, and AI governance. • Partner cross-functionally to operationalize legal requirements through clear processes, controls, and project management. • Track compliance commitments, identify gaps, and escalate risks appropriately to ensure timely resolution. • Develop practical training, documentation, and guidance to increase awareness of privacy and AI compliance obligations across the organization. • Continuously improve and streamline compliance processes as Thumbtack’s data use and AI capabilities evolve.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in privacy compliance, data governance, risk management, or related fields.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and global privacy laws and emerging AI regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional compliance initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Hands-on experience with DPIAs, privacy tooling, data mapping, consent management platforms, and system integrations.
  • Solid understanding of compliance program management, internal controls, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of data systems, software development lifecycles, and operational workflows.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with a passion for responsible AI.
