Business Systems Manager
NASCO
• Performs analysis to assess business and user needs • Gathers, defines, and documents high level and detailed business and technical requirements • Researches and develops innovative system solutions that use the system/product the most effectively • Quantifies the business value of proposed system solutions • Recommends and coordinates development/enhancements to meet customers' needs. • Defines the impacts of project objectives to the system and business by using industry knowledge and system specifications • Assesses technical design from vendor for traceability to business requirements • Assesses technical designs from vendor for thoroughness, impacts to system including performance and capacity • Identifies, captures and reports the operational metrics and data to measure the use and effectiveness of a system enhancement or a product • Supports system and data architecture needs by applying NASCO policies and standards as appropriate throughout product/project delivery. • Develops test strategies and test plans • Performs user acceptance testing and validate results • Identify and document user acceptance test defects • Partner with Plan(s) and vendor to resolve test defects • Create Plan-readiness criteria and assessment • Conduct post-production check out • Facilitate walk through of system changes and test results • Operates within resource (time and money) constraints to achieve results • Obtain customer sign off on project deliverables • Provides training and quality assurance as needed to peers and customers in areas for which you are a SME • Promotes, recommends, and participates in process improvement activities • Mentors less experienced team members • Develops skills and gains knowledge to be a SME in multiple system areas. • May provide approval of less experienced team members' test deliverables. • Communicates effectively (verbal and written)
Job Requirements
- 6-10 years experience as Business Systems Manager or related technical position
- Previous experience participating in large software development or implementation projects
- Previous experience in developing and implementing software testing strategies
- Previous experience working with customers and end users
- Previous experience in working with software vendors or in implementing vendor custom developed applications
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint software tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to develop good, effective working relationships with customers through minimal contact
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong sense of urgency
- Bachelor's degree in business or technology or work equivalent
- CBAP or CAPM certification required within 18 months from date of hire
