Responsibilities & Qualifications RESPONSIBILITIES - The individual in this role will be responsible for supporting network and hardware infrastructure deployment activities. Key responsibilities include: - Execute Installation Services, including: - Unboxing and inspecting equipment - Preparing devices for deployment - Staging equipment for configuration - Transporting equipment to designated installation locations - Decommissioning and safely removing legacy hardware - Re-patching network and peripheral cabling to new equipment - Organizing decommissioned assets in coordination with onsite staff - Rack and Mount Equipment according to standardized procedures and architectural designs. - Establish Physical Connectivity by properly connecting network and peripheral cabling to switches and related infrastructure components. - Comprehend Equipment Interfaces including the identification of appropriate connectors and port types required for switch and network device installation. - Apply Knowledge of Fiber Optic Cabling, including various cable types and connector standards for proper integration. - Label and Document Cabling using to ensure consistency and traceability within the environment. - Troubleshoot Layer 1 Connectivity issues, ensuring optimal performance and minimal disruption during deployment. - Assess Power Requirements, ensuring compatibility between newly deployed and outgoing hardware, with consideration for capacity and redundancy. - Perform Hardware Replacements with Minimal Downtime, adhering to change control and operational continuity standards. - Maintain and Update Documentation, including installation records, port maps, and physical layout diagrams to reflect current environment state - Capture Installation Site Images: Provide clear and comprehensive before-and-after photographs of installation areas, including: - Equipment Handling: Proficient in the installation and removal (rack/unrack) of network switches and related infrastructure components in accordance with standard procedures. - Local Travel: Must possess a valid and unrestricted driver’s license and be able to travel between local project sites as required. - Daily Reporting: Submit accurate and timely Daily Activity Reports detailing progress, issues, and accomplishments for each site visit. - Inventory Management: Perform and maintain accurate records of equipment and tool inventories, ensuring proper documentation and accountability. - Cable Management: Apply and adhere to industry best practices for cable routing, labeling, and organization to ensure a clean and maintainable environment. - Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift and transport equipment weighing between 50-75 lbs. Position Summary We’re looking for a seasoned Network Architect to take ownership of how our networks are designed and scaled across our corporate offices, manufacturing sites, and the cloud. This person sets the standards for LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and Azure networking, making sure connectivity is secure, reliable, and consistent. This role partners closely with infrastructure, security, and our site/plant teams to keep production environments running, and ensures that hybrid connectivity to Azure (VNets, ExpressRoute, VPN) support day-to-day operations while reducing risk. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enterprise Network Architecture & Strategy: - Define and maintain the enterprise network architecture roadmap across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, wireless, and cloud connectivity, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives. - Establish and govern standards for network design, segmentation, performance, redundancy, and scalability across on-premises and cloud environments. - Lead enterprise network modernization initiatives, including upgrades, consolidation, and adoption of next-generation networking solutions. Manufacturing & Operational Technology Support: - Design secure, resilient network connectivity models for manufacturing plants and operational technology (OT) environments. - Partner with plant engineering teams to ensure reliable, production-grade network support for manufacturing operations. - Implement segmentation and Zero Trust principles between IT and OT networks. Education & Experience - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience. - Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in network engineering and architecture. Knowledge, Skills, & Talents Strong expertise in enterprise networking, including: - Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) - SD-WAN architectures - Wireless networking (enterprise Wi-Fi) - Network segmentation and security - Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing or industrial environments Working Conditions Ability to Travel predominantly our United States manufacturing sites and globally as needed. Pay and Benefits The estimated base pay range for this position is: $110,000 - $170,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
