Senior Surveying Legal Calculator

IBW Surveyors

• Complete boundary calculations • Complete 1st Draft Reviews for legal plans • Check plans by working closely with the signing OLS and drafting staff • Complete plan closures • Calculate reference plans • Complete calculation sketches that clearly show the assessment of evidence in accordance with recognized legal principles • Calculation sketches show the methodology of boundary retracement making it obvious allowing for the signing OLS to understand the available options and the decisions made • Calculation sketches must be clear for the CAD Operator drafting • Recognizes when consultation with the signing OLS is required for challenging boundary retracements or when the calculations are beyond their capabilities • Read and assess metes and bounds descriptions • Follows all IBW protocols in regards to processes in relation to calculation sketches, CAD drawings, upload files, etc.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of proper research and ability to identify when additional research material is required
  • Knowledge of AOLS and IBW Standards
  • Knowledge of how to obtain additional research material as required
  • Knowledge of how to prepare a file for fieldwork and to ensure that it is properly organized for the field crew
  • Recognizes when consultation with the Project Manager is required
  • Recognizes when consultation with the Team Lead is required
  • Recognizes when more evidence is required
  • Understanding of the IBW CAD and Quality Control processes
