Staff QA Automation Engineer

• Design, build, and maintain scalable end-to-end test automation frameworks using Cypress and comparable tools • Own test coverage strategy for new features and regression suites across web, API and integration layers • Partner with engineering leads to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.) • Help define and enforce QA standards, best practices and coverage criteria across engineering teams • Lead risk-based test planning and prioritization for complex, multi-service releases • Mentor junior and mid-level QA engineers through code reviews, pairing and documentation • Advocate for testability in design reviews and sprint planning — shifting quality left • Drive cross-functional QA initiatives, tooling evaluations and process improvements org-wide
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of QA engineering experience with a strong automation focus
- Deep hands-on expertise with Cypress, Playwright or a comparable modern test automation framework
- Proficiency in at least one programming language — JavaScript/TypeScript strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of REST API testing using tools such as Postman
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD workflows
- Strong grasp of testing methodologies: unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, exploratory and performance testing
- Excellent debugging skills and ability to diagnose failures across full-stack systems
