Peraton is seeking a Remote Systems Integration Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of U.S. airspace operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that FAA National Airspace Systems are upgraded in a timely manner. Work Location: - Remote work is permitted; candidates must reside within the United States. - Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time to support deployments at CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations. Your Impact: Our team of technologists and aviation experts are supporting the FAA update of new systems to National Airspace System (NAS). You will join this effort by examining FAA facilities, making plans to prepare them for new equipment, and installing new hardware systems. Prior to installation, you will ensure that all site preparations are completed. You will install or oversee the installation of new equipment, activation, and hand off to FAA personnel. - Plan and perform technical system site surveys, site readiness inspections for IT installations - Review and analyze site survey data to validate site conditions and develop Site Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP) that establish the technical baseline for site-specific engineering packages (including equipment layouts, cabling, risk plans, and other technical documentation prepared in accordance with applicable FAA orders for FAA approval). - Conduct discussions with facilities on equipment placement as required. - As directed by the FAA, perform Operational Risk Management (ORM) - Coordinate with vendors on ORM plans. - Provide on-site engineering and installation support - Perform site hardware installation activities in accordance with the Site-Specific Implementation Plan in accordance with FAA policies, standards, orders and other applicable codes/regulations - Perform site software installations in accordance with FAA policies, standards, orders and other applicable codes/regulations - Perform infrastructure and installation checkout - Perform site functionality test including network and interface connectivity as defined by the FAA - Conduct configuration management activities such as switch configurations, swap, local position set-ups, software versions. - Conduct Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) - Support disposition of property - Comply with all FAA facility requirements (security, workspace availability) and professionally manage all site staff relationships Qualifications Basic Qualifications: - U.S. Citizenship Required - Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance - Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years’ experience - Experience conducting IT system site surveys - 7 years of hardware and software deployment/installation experience - Must be able to travel at least 50% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations - Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs. - Ability to work in confined spaces (server closets, raised floors) Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with National Airspace System (NAS) architecture and modernization initiatives (e.g., NextGen) - Experience supporting FAA, DOT, or other aviation or transportation programs - CompTIA Security+, Network+, or similar technical certification - Proficiency creating network diagrams and rack elevations using tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office Suite - Redhat Linux experience - Strong understanding of power requirements (NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, BTU calculations) - Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards (single-mode, multi-mode, CAT6) #BNATC Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Job Description Summary The BWRX-300 Controls Systems Lead Design Engineer is responsible for design and analysis of I&C systems for GE Vernova's BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR).
