Position Description Oklo is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead complex sourcing and purchasing execution efforts across critical reactor modules and high-value hardware assemblies. This role owns competitive sourcing strategy execution for technically intensive components and serves as a key commercial interface with strategic suppliers. This position reports to the Senior Procurement Manager and partners closely with engineering, legal and program leadership to ensure cost, quality, capacity, and schedule objectives are achieved. This position may be based in Santa Clara, CA or remote within the United States. Specific responsibilities may include: - Lead end-to-end execution of sourcing activities for complex assemblies and critical components - Develop and manage RFP packages, conduct detailed bid analysis, and drive supplier selection decisions - Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers - Issue and manage purchase orders in alignment with program milestones - Support should-cost analysis and cost-reduction initiatives - Identify supply risks and proactively drive mitigation plans - Partner with Global Supply Managers and engineering teams to execute category strategies - Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and responsiveness Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field - 5+ years of sourcing or supply chain experience in a hardware manufacturing environment - Experience leading sourcing for complex, highly engineered components - Strong commercial negotiation skills and analytical capability - Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications - Experience operating in cross-functional product development environments - U.S. citizenship required Bonus Qualifications: - Experience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, automotive, or similarly regulated and high-reliability industries - Working knowledge of nuclear ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) requirements and associated Code Stamps (e.g., N, NPT, NA) and their impact on supplier qualification and fabrication - Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) programs - Familiarity with supplier cost modeling and capacity planning - Experience working in high-growth or vertically integrated hardware companies Competencies We are looking for a Senior Sourcing Specialist that is: - Passionate about clean energy - Passionate about making advanced fission a reality - Willing and able to learn quickly - Eager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with us - Willing to think differently and do things in new ways - Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment - Excited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving, while not leaning only on what has been done before - Willing to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problems - An excellent writer who can write in modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well! - Able to communicate technical content and results verbally Who you are: A startup person: You aren't driven by titles or hierarchy, and prefer efficiency to excess process.
