• Provide Technical Leadership of a small group of Engineers and Contractors in activities related to analyses, calculations and technical evaluations required for timely resolution of design and implementation issues • Manage project work schedules and priorities • Mentor and provide technical leadership in area of expertise to other engineers and projects • Support drafting of civil and mechanical design and/or equipment construction activities • Respond to vendor questions and deviation requests; review and approve vendor document submittals • Support the certification processes for GE Products (e.g. BWRX-300, VTR, Natrium) • Establish and maintain technical oversight of the applicable regulations (e.g.; US, other national, or global region) • Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or University
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a technology or engineering role
- Master’s Degree or greater in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or University (preferred)
- Minimum of 5-8 years of Nuclear or Industrial Technology or Engineering experience is preferred
- Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
- Strong knowledge of fundamental engineering principles, BWR core/fuel material behavior, and mechanical or structural design fundamentals
- Knowledge of project management
- Knowledge of quality standards and systems (e.g., NQA-1 and ISO 9000)
- Professional Engineer registration in one or more states
- Strong analytical capabilities, problem solving and process skills.

Role Description The Rotating Equipment, Vibration, Dynamics (REVD) mechanical engineer resolves piping, machinery, and structural problems at oil/gas and petrochemical industrial facilities to improve structural reliability and eliminate fatigue concerns. This includes: - Field acquisition and analysis of vibration data - Determination of root cause of vibration problems - Developing vibration control methods to reduce vibration levels This position requires high competence in the use of the following vibration analysis tools: - Data acquisition systems - Accelerometers - Pressure transducers - Microphones - Strain gauges - Modal testing - Operating deflection shapes - Motion amplification The analytical tools utilized in this position include: - Hand calculations - Advanced modal and stress analysis using FEA The analytical methods include: - Acceptability evaluations - Fatigue methods - Stress methods using the API 579 Fitness for Service Code - ASME Section VIII Division 2 Design by Analysis Requirements - ASME B31.3 Process Piping - Other API machine standards This position is estimated to travel on average of 25% of the time, however more travel could become available depending on client needs.
