• Operate and maintain production GCP environments, ensuring availability, performance and scalability for critical applications and services • Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager or similar, enabling repeatable and auditable deployments • Build, maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent • Design and implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions using Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana and related tooling • Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents; perform root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve system reliability • Manage networking, load balancing, VPN/Interconnect, VPCs, Cloud DNS and related GCP networking components • Configure and operate compute, storage and database services (Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, BigQuery) following best practices for security and cost optimisation • Implement and maintain identity, access and security controls using Cloud IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS, and integrate with enterprise identity providers • Automate operational tasks and runbooks with scripting (Python, Bash, Go) and orchestration frameworks to reduce manual toil • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely incident response and incident communications to stakeholders • Collaborate with developers, platform engineers and security teams to support continuous improvement, capacity planning and cost management • Produce and maintain high-quality operational documentation, runbooks, architecture diagrams and post-incident reports • Contribute to cloud migration, modernisation and platform standardisation programmes, helping to define operational standards and best practices

• Design, build, and deploy production systems with a focus on scalability, reliability, observability, and performance, ensuring systems meet stringent security standards • Develop and maintain comprehensive automation solutions to eliminate toil and streamline operational efficiency across production environments • Proactively monitor production systems, establish intelligent alerting strategies, and implement automated incident response mechanisms to minimise downtime • Create and maintain detailed incident response runbooks; conduct thorough postmortem analyses following incidents to identify root causes and prevent recurrence • Collaborate with software engineering teams to identify and resolve infrastructural bottlenecks, designing innovative solutions that enhance product deployment workflows • Manage and optimise monitoring infrastructure using industry-standard tools, ensuring comprehensive visibility across all systems • Plan, communicate, and execute maintenance windows on production systems with minimal disruption to service availability • Triage platform and infrastructural issues with decisiveness and analytical rigour; engage with third-party vendors and support teams as required • Deploy new systems and updates in a staged, risk-managed manner, ensuring safe and incremental rollouts • Survey and adopt best practices in infrastructure and platform management to maintain secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant systems • Study the design and implementation details of open-source systems to enhance troubleshooting capabilities and accelerate issue resolution • Work transparently with stakeholders to communicate system status, planned maintenance, and infrastructure improvements

• Design and implement secure, scalable AWS architectures for highly available applications • Build resilient data and service backends using RDS, S3, Elasticsearch, SQS, and SNS • Implement secrets, configuration management, and environment isolation across dev/test/stage/prod • Evaluate database scaling strategies and optimize queries, indexing, replication, and connection pooling • Configure load balancers, DNS, VPCs, and SSL/TLS certificate management • Implement GitOps and continuous delivery with policy gates, approvals, automated rollbacks, and progressive delivery • Codify infrastructure with AWS CDK and CloudFormation, including reusable versioned modules and drift detection • Create and maintain GitLab CI pipelines across the delivery lifecycle • Build platform automation and internal tooling with PowerShell, Python, Microsoft Graph, and Azure CLI • Support SRE practices including SLOs, error budgets, and blue/green, canary, or zero-downtime deployments • Optimize AWS costs, autoscaling, reservations, spot usage, caching, CDN, data lifecycle policies, and build-farm efficiency • Embed CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray observability, performance tracing, metrics, and alerting • Enforce IAM, role separation, least privilege, and secure compliant architectures aligned with SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 • Maintain architecture diagrams, pipeline documentation, runbooks, decision records, how-to guides, and internal platform catalog modules • Mentor junior teammates and collaborate with Security, App Dev, Reliability, Connectivity, SRE, and full-stack engineering teams

• Build and maintain CI/CD across GitHub Actions, container registries, and the deployment pipelines • Run and improve Kubernetes across multiple environments and regions • Develop reusable Terraform and Ansible modules • Expand the self-service platform capabilities • Strengthen observability and reliability with DataDog • Support the ongoing migration to Azure • Work closely with cloud service providers • Integrate as a full member of the client's teams • Take part in strategic and architectural discussions
