Role Description A primary focus of this job is to design, deliver & maintain highload real-time web services in close collaboration with other great engineers both from recommendations & other teams. - Build / deploy / support robust recommendations services including io-bound web services, cpu-bound services and data services - Write AWS CloudFormation scripts, Jenkins jobs, Github actions following best industry standards - Set up service observability, monitoring metrics, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, PagerDuty, AWS CloudWatch) - Implement CI/CD pipelines and separate stability testing for recommendations needs - Collaborate with technical and non-technical business partners to develop / update recommendations functionalities - Communicate with stakeholders within and outside the team Qualifications - Strong computer science background & familiarity with networking principles - Experience in designing, developing & maintaining highload real-time services - Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for managing cloud resources - Hands-on experience with setting up and improving CI/CD pipelines - Proficiency in a scripting language like Python and, as a plus, in compiled languages like Go or Rust - Experience in server-side coding for web services, and a good understanding of API design principles - Skilled in setting up and managing observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and integrating alert systems like PagerDuty - Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture, knowledge of communication protocols like protobuf - Experience with NoSQL and relational databases, distributed systems, and caching solutions - Experience with any of the major public cloud formation: AWS, Azure, GCP - Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams - Excellent English communication skills Benefits - 🏝️ Unlimited vacation time - we strongly encourage all of our employees take at least 3 weeks per year - 🌎 Fully remote team - choose where you live - 🛋️ Work from home stipend! Role Description We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing our backend systems and integrations that power Crewfare’s travel management platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions that enhance the user experience. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using PHP. - Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver high-quality features. - Optimize database queries and backend performance for scalability and reliability. - Integrate with third-party APIs and internal systems. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices. • Build The Agentic Platform: Design, develop, and operate the backend systems that power Arbiter’s agent-driven care orchestration workflows, including service orchestration, inference pipelines, and automation primitives. • Production AI Systems: Ship and maintain production-grade AI systems that automate complex clinical and administrative workflows, with real customer dependency and strict reliability, latency, and correctness requirements. • Platform Architecture & Scalability: Contribute to the architectural design of Arbiter’s AI-driven platform, emphasizing modularity, extensibility, scalability, and clean integration with EMRs, data systems, and external services. • Inference & Backend Reliability: Ensure high performance, low latency, and fault tolerance across backend services and AI inference pipelines through strong system design, monitoring, and operational best practices. • Infrastructure & Deployment Excellence: Implement and uphold best practices for CI/CD, testing, observability, and deployment of backend and AI systems in production environments. • Cross-Functional Execution: Partner closely with data scientists, product managers, clinical experts, and other engineers to translate ambiguous, high-impact problems into scalable technical solutions. • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor engineers, contribute to internal documentation and standards, influence technical direction, and raise the overall engineering bar. • Ownership & On-Call: Take end-to-end ownership of critical systems, including participating in on-call rotations and leading incident resolution when production issues arise.
