Role Description The Finance Engineering organization is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer - Remote. This Infrastructure/Platform Engineer works with the corporate infrastructure and services that support servers, services, and network staff involved in the implementation, migration, and maintenance of solutions across the global enterprise. This role requires experience designing, implementing, and supporting mid-to-Enterprise level systems solutions. The role will routinely participate as a leader/member in local/global projects and assist and contribute to establishing policies, procedures, and standards across the IT organization. The position will require input to improve the team's overall management of servers and services globally. This position requires participation and contribution to various global initiatives such as automation, virtualization, file services, and Linux servers, with a focus on the Azure Cloud environment. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters who watch for every area of improvement and proactively drive new solutions to stay ahead of the company’s needs. Working directly with our project management and other IT teams, this role will drive decisions which shape our services for years to come. This role also works directly with our Security team to review proposed configurations before implementing, and to address any issues with existing infrastructure. Responsibilities - Responsible for day-to-day management and maintenance of various versions of Linux infrastructure. - Work on ad hoc projects researching and implementing new technologies such as moving more towards a virtual cloud environment. - Implementation, design and maintenance of Azure Cloud computing architecture. - Deploy and fine-tune server and networking infrastructure. - Perform operations relating to Disaster recovery / Patching / Backup / Business continuity. - Set up and support configuration management tools. - Servers and services monitoring. - Work with other teams to understand their technological needs and propose efficient solutions. Document processes for our IT Operations Team to run what you build. - Work in a team environment to develop best practices and improve existing infrastructure design and new implementations. - Produce documentation on configuration standards, troubleshooting steps, and infrastructure design. - Research and implement automation processes that add value to the infrastructure. Qualifications - At least 8 years of experience as a Platform Engineer with a demonstrated ability to play a significant role and successfully manage and complete complex projects. - Fundamental knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including virtualized environments, storage systems, and cloud architecture. - Experience and excellent knowledge with the following: Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Azure NetApp File, and other Azure native services such as AKV and Cloud Functions, OCI, Linux RHEL. - Programming experience, preferably with bash scripting. - Experience with the implementation of IaC, Terraform, ADO, GitHub. - Experience with config management such as Puppet Config Management. - Experience in VMWARE administration. - Experience in developing your own solutions to understand & solve complex IT problems that couldn’t be fixed with a click from a commercial product. - Stay updated on the latest technologies and market trends, and evaluate their applicability to the company. - Familiarity with modern cloud-native architectures. - Experience dealing with hybrid environments with multiple dependencies. - Strong Linux and computer networking expertise is beneficial.
