Role Description We're looking for a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to take ownership of core accounting for our UK and European entities, reporting into the Financial Controller and working closely with the wider US-based group finance team. This is an excellent first move out of practice for a qualified or finalist accountant who wants real commercial exposure, ownership, and a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment to grow in – without being a small cog in a huge machine. You'll be the day-to-day owner of the European numbers, with genuine scope to shape local processes as the business scales, while working within a broader global finance structure. What you'll do - Owning month-end close for UK and European entities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations - Preparing statutory accounts and supporting audits under IFRS across multiple jurisdictions - Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations between European entities and the wider global group - Partnering with the Financial Controller and US-based group finance team on reporting, consolidation support, and technical accounting matters - Maintaining and improving controls and processes within NetSuite as the group scales - Supporting VAT and other statutory/tax filings across UK and EU territories, working with local advisors where needed - Getting involved in ad hoc projects: system improvements, acquisition integrations, and process automation - Acting as a key point of contact for auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholders Qualifications - ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified or finalist (or equivalent), ideally with a practice background - Solid grounding in IFRS, with exposure to UK and/or European statutory reporting - Previous experience with NetSuite strongly preferred - Comfortable working in a remote-first, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly - A proactive, hands-on approach – happy to get into the detail as well as think about the bigger picture - Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with stakeholders across the business - SaaS or software industry experience is a plus, but not essential Benefits - Salary up to £65,000, plus 10% annual bonus - 8% employer pension contribution - 25 days holiday plus bank holidays - Fully remote working - A genuine seat at the table in a private equity-backed, scaling SaaS business - Real ownership and exposure to UK and European operations from day one - The chance to build your career in a business that's growing fast – and growing you with it
• Serve as the first point of contact for inbound customer support requests via Salesforce Service Cloud, managing cases from intake through resolution. • Triage, categorize, and prioritize support tickets based on severity, customer tier, and business impact. • Investigate and resolve product issues independently; escalate to the Senior Support Analyst or Product/Engineering when a case exceeds scope. • Maintain thorough, accurate case notes and resolution documentation in Salesforce and Jira. • Deliver 1:1 product training to existing users, including platform walkthroughs, feature Q&A, and workflow guidance, for Evolve, Sophia, Scout, and Flintbox, where online 1-to-many training offerings are not yet available. • Coordinate with Customer Success Managers, who own strategic enablement and executive-level reviews, to ensure training coverage aligns with customer’s goals. • Build deep working knowledge of all supported Wellspring platforms and stay current on product releases, configuration updates, and known issues. • Identify recurring issues or patterns in the ticket queue and surface them to the Senior Support Analyst or Product team with supporting data. • Log reproducible bugs in Jira with complete context and steps to reproduce. • Communicate clearly with CSMs, Product, Engineering, and Implementation teams when issue resolution requires cross-functional involvement.
• Ensure the company's operations adhere to applicable international, national, and local laws and regulations. • Identify, analyze, and manage legal risks across multiple jurisdictions. • Establish and maintain policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks. • Use AI-powered compliance monitoring tools to track regulatory changes across jurisdictions in real time, reducing manual research burden. • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including commercial agreements, employment contracts, vendor agreements, and partnerships. • Manage cross-border transactions and contracts, ensuring compliance with international regulations. • Maintain AI-assisted contract templates and playbooks to standardize and streamline negotiation. • Advise on corporate governance best practices and ensure compliance with board governance frameworks. • Partner with the Finance team and the company’s registered agent to ensure compliance with all Secretary of State registrations and annual report filings. • Assist with board meetings, resolutions, and related legal documentation. • Monitoring changes in international laws and regulations and ensuring timely compliance across all operating jurisdictions. • Designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's internal controls framework, ensuring consistent adherence to policies and regulatory obligations. • Developing security-related policies and compliance frameworks, working in close partnership with IT/CISO on implementation and enforcement. • Managing relationships with regulators and handling any regulatory inquiries or investigations. • Leveraging AI-assisted regulatory intelligence platforms to proactively identify and assess the impact of regulatory changes on company operations. • Owning and maintaining the Company's personal data governance framework. • Ensuring full compliance with GDPR and all applicable global data protection laws (CCPA, UK GDPR, and other jurisdiction-specific regimes). • Oversee and manage litigation, arbitration, or disputes, coordinating with external counsel as needed. • Represent the company in negotiations and dispute resolution processes. • Safeguard the company's IP assets by managing global registrations, infringements, and disputes. • Champion legal and compliance technology adoption, evaluating and implementing AI tools across legal, compliance, and privacy functions. • Establish governance frameworks and usage policies for AI in legal workflows, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical use. • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on legal, compliance, and privacy implications of strategic decisions.
• Research and build target account lists aligned to the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) • Build, launch, and optimize outbound sequences using sales engagement platforms • Respond to inbound inquiries quickly and qualitatively • Convert prospect engagement into booked discovery calls
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to achieve pipeline and SQL targets • Drive accountability on daily/weekly activity execution (calls, emails, LinkedIn, sequencing) • Act as a player-coach, stepping into discovery, messaging, and deal qualification when needed • Own outbound pipeline generation across defined ICP accounts using a structured, multi-threaded approach • Guide BDRs in identifying key personas (champion, economic buyer, influencers) and executing targeted outreach • Partner with AEs on discovery calls and early-stage qualification • Ensure strong follow-up and conversion of inbound leads (events, webinars, trials, campaigns) • Own visibility into meeting-to-opportunity conversion and pipeline integrity • Audit meetings and opportunities to ensure they are properly qualified and advanced • Identify gaps in pipeline progression and drive corrective action • Lead initiatives to clean, segment, and optimize contact data (~700K contacts across systems) • Define and enforce rules for: Marketing vs. non-marketing contacts • Evaluate, select, and implement a replacement for outbound/contact sourcing tools (replacing Prospeo) • Help design and implement a modern, AI-enabled outbound and pipeline workflow, including: Outbound sourcing + validation layer • Translate manual processes currently in HubSpot into automated, scalable workflows
• Manage a team of technology transfer operations staff who perform managed services work under billable service contracts for our Sophia and Evolve clients. • Coordinate and provide leadership and training for new and existing staff on this team. • Project manage, track and delegate work to ensure that contracts are being fulfilled as per SOW and that Wellspring is maintaining the target margins and staff utilization levels. • Ensure team members are managing their service contracts and recording their time accurately using the company’s project management and time recording system. • Coordinate and lead the initial kick-off calls for OaaS subscribers to align the expectations on what will be done per the SOW. • Work with marketing and sales to support business development activities to secure new clients. Provide support to scope and price SOWs for new OaaS contracts. • Provide technology transfer sector knowledge and expertise to assist other members of the company.
• Act as the primary Wellspring contact for key stakeholders (C suite, innovation, R&D, IP, Tech Transfer), building executive-level rapport. • Achieve ambitious growth targets via upsell, cross-sell, and expansion across installed base. • Partner with CSM/Customer Success to ensure clients maximize software ROI; identify expansion signals. • Opportunistically explore adjacent divisions or use cases within existing accounts. • Lead account planning, discovery, solution presentations, business case development (ROI-focused), formal contract negotiations, and close deals end-to-end. • Maintain robust pipeline in Salesforce, provide disciplined forecasting, and use insight-driven territory reviews. • Work across Product, Marketing, Pre-sales, and Executive teams to align campaigns, messaging, and technical expertise. • Understand client business challenges/trends in higher education, corporate innovation, IP lifecycle management; articulate the Wellspring advantage. • Participate in user groups (e.g. AUTM), webinars, events, and peer forums to elevate customer positioning.

• Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce OEM applications delivered via second-generation managed packages (2GP) • Build robust backend logic using Apex, including async patterns (Queueable, Batch, Future) • Develop modern, performant user interfaces using Lightning Web Components (LWC) • Ensure all development aligns with Salesforce ISV and OEM best practices • Design solutions with a deep understanding of Salesforce governor limits, multitenant architecture, and scale constraints • Proactively identify and mitigate limit risks • Optimize code, data models, and automation for high-volume and enterprise-scale usage • Leverage Salesforce configuration tools effectively • Use Git for source control • Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
• Lead the interactions with clients and work with internal staff in executing successful implementations of our technology transfer software. • Manage multiple projects at the same time and work with Salesforce systems. • Manage configurations, interpret client requests for workflows or configurations. • Assist in data migration, troubleshooting, and configuring to meet client needs. • Perform basic Salesforce configurations such as permission, fields, and data importing. • Manage data migration processes with internal teams. • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather requirements and translate them into solutions. • Troubleshoot software configuration and data reconciliation-related issues. • Track project management tasks, including timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication. • Provide training and documentation to clients on software functionality.
