Role Description The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will oversee the profitable revenue growth of Wastequip Compacter Aftermarket products and services in Houston and surrounding areas. This remote position, based in Houston, TX, reports directly to the VP Sales Operations. The RSM is responsible for achieving sales targets by managing existing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Wastequip’s diverse customer base includes: - waste and recycling haulers - municipalities - specialty recyclers - equipment dealers or brokers Product/service offerings encompass: - Refurbished Compactors - Preventative Maintenance Contracts - Refurbished Steel Containers - Refurbished Balers - Compactor Repair - Compactor/Baler installation - General equipment/Truck Repair Utilizing Salesforce.com, the RSM will manage the sales pipeline, coordinate orders with operations teams, and maintain accurate account records, including sales activity, customer contacts, and call notes. Salary: $50,000 base salary plus monthly commission. Additional Responsibilities and Duties - Develop, maintain, and expand service-based revenue within assigned territory across private, municipal, and county markets, with a strong focus on compactor service, preventative maintenance (PM) contracts, repairs, refurbishments, and aftermarket parts. - Develop and convert reactive/break-fix customers into contracted PM and service agreements that reduce downtime and improve total cost of ownership. - Attend trade shows and industry association meetings, including events held in the evening. - Stay informed about competitors operating within the territory. - Assist customers in selecting the appropriate products for their applications, which may involve conducting site surveys, in-person visits, and assessment reviews. - Provide exceptional customer satisfaction and support "after the sale," including training for customers and assisting their maintenance teams. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years sales experience, preferably within the waste or recycling industry. - Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree. - Sales experience in B2B or equipment sales is desired. - Must complete hands-on product training within 90 days of employment and participate in ongoing product update and training workshops during the year. - Familiarity with Salesforce.com or comparable CRM tools. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Strong work ethic and ability to travel 50–75% of the time, typically requiring 2–3 nights away per week. - Strong organizational skills. - Excellent interpersonal abilities and effective communication skills across all levels of an organization. - Project management capabilities. - Able to work remotely. Salary Range: $145,000 - $170,000 (Based on experience) + Commission Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales Strategy & Leadership - Lead the development and execution of sales strategies that drive growth, profitability, and market expansion. - Set sales forecasts, territory plans, and performance expectations across dealer and direct channels. - Stay ahead of market and competitive trends to adjust strategy and ensure continued success.
