Role Description We're looking for a junior design engineer who is drawn to the intersection of aesthetics and functionality. In this role, you will: - Design and implement features end-to-end with guidance from the team. - Utilize AI-powered dev tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to enhance productivity. - Contribute to the frontend experience, focusing on layout, interaction, motion, and polish. - Collaborate directly with engineering and product teams, iterating quickly and communicating plainly. Qualifications - Experience with design tools like Figma for prototyping. - Interest in accessibility. - Engagement in creative activities such as reading fiction, world-building, or making things for fun. Requirements - Working knowledge of modern frontend technologies (React, TypeScript, Next.js or similar). - Ability to build real UI from scratch. - Understanding of interface design principles and user experience. - Capability to transform rough ideas into interactive prototypes without detailed specifications. - Daily use of AI tools as a productivity enhancer. - Basic understanding of backend concepts (APIs, data flow, authentication). - Experience creating projects where motion or interaction felt genuinely good. You'll contribute to the frontend experience: layout, interaction, motion, polish. You'll work directly with engineering and product, iterate in hours instead of weeks, and communicate plainly. You still care deeply about taste, feel, motion, and craft. But you also go further down the stack: data models, APIs, performance, reliability, and the messy systems work needed to ship great product. You are also extremely comfortable with AI tooling. You use it daily (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) to explore solutions, generate and refine code, debug faster, and ship at a pace that would be hard to match otherwise.
