Job Title: California Organizing Manager Department: Field Organizing Reports to: Senior Field Director Effective Date: June 2026 Classification: FT Term: Through December 2026 Salary Range: $48,000-58,000 Job Summary: As a Field Organizing Manager at Vot-ER, you will lead and support volunteer teams and individual healthcare professionals, community health workers (CHWs), social workers, and health professional students who are essential to expanding civic engagement and voter access. In this role, you will implement a statewide organizing strategy that prioritizes communities facing the greatest barriers to voting, recruits new health professionals and institutional partners, connects them to Vot-ER programs, and mobilizes them to bring nonpartisan civic engagement into their workplaces and communities. You may also directly manage interns and health professional volunteers as needed. Working closely with staff across Vot-ER, you will help build healthier communities powered by an inclusive democracy. *Candidates must be located in California to be considered for this position.* Duties/Responsibilities: - Recruit, train, and support healthcare providers, students, and associations across California, and occasionally in other states, to lead nonpartisan voter engagement in their institutions. - Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, community health centers, universities, professional associations, and community partners to expand Vot-ER’s reach. - Execute a state organizing strategy that grows participation in Vot-ER programs and increases voter access for patients and communities. - Coordinate and coach cohorts of health professionals and students participating in Vot-ER programs including the Civic Health Fellowship, Healthy Democracy Campaign, Community Civic Engagement Program, and Civic Health Month. - Lead ongoing intake calls and onboarding for new health professionals, including training on having voting conversations, using Vot-ER tools, and securing organizational buy-in. - Organize and facilitate presentations, workshops, and trainings to educate and mobilize healthcare audiences around civic engagement and voter access. - Utilize text outreach, social media, email, and professional networks to recruit participants and promote Vot-ER programs statewide. - Support and occasionally lead cross-state organizing efforts when needed. - Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding process for interns - - Collaborate with the Vot-ER team to share learnings, refine strategy, and contribute to program development. - Stay informed on voting rights, state election policies, and health equity issues to provide accurate, relevant information to partners. - Lead and participate in Vot-ER’s Get Out the Vote efforts including phonebanks, textbanks, and voter readiness outreach in California and nationally as needed. Other Requirements: - Ability to travel to sites to meet with partners, institutions, and providers/individuals monthly. - Participate in Vot-ER wide retreats and gatherings a minimum of twice per year. This is a remote, full-time role. Vot-ER offers a flexible, remote work environment. We have core working hours of 12 pm to 5 pm eastern time, Monday through Friday. During those hours, all employees are expected to be available for meetings and collaboration. Outside of those core hours, each employee sets their own schedule, while recognizing that due to the collaborative nature of the Vot-ER work and mission, employees will often arrange meetings outside of core Vot-ER hours. • Provide project management of donor cultivation and engagement activities, including events, briefings, webinars, etc (both virtual and in person). • Develop and update fundraising messaging and materials. • Create and drive the execution of a strategic, creative fundraising plan for individual donor engagement. • Write and review grant proposals and reports prior to submission; ensure timely submission. • Analyze donor data, giving trends, and campaign outcomes to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
Role Description The Civic Health Fellowship Intern will support with the overall administration of Vot-ER’s 2026 Civic Health Fellowship, an online training program that equips healthcare professionals with the training, resources, and collaborative space needed to lead campaigns that mobilize patients towards civic engagement. - Support the Senior Director of Strategy & Special Projects with overall Fellowship project planning and execution. - Provide Zoom tech support during live Fellowship sessions such as coordinating breakout rooms, spotlighting speakers, and facilitating other tech operations as needed. - Draft and send mass electronic communications to the Fellowship participants such as email reminders related to live sessions and asynchronous exercises, follow-up surveys, etc. - Upload Zoom recordings, PowerPoint slides, and additional materials to the Thinkific platform. - Attend Fellowship planning meetings as needed and occasionally support with meeting facilitation. Role Description The A Healthier Democracy (AHD) Strategy and Operations Intern will work directly with the Interim CEO to advance critical organizational priorities essential to our growth and sustainability. This role is designed for strategic thinkers interested in social impact, innovation, and mission-driven revenue models. The intern will support special projects focused on organizational sustainability, including building earned revenue approaches and optimizing AHD’s operating model compared to peer organizations. This is a remote position, with the expectation to travel once during the summer. Please note: A Healthier Democracy will offer a stipend to partially compensate for this internship, but candidates are expected to secure additional funding from their institution. AHD will work with you to ensure total compensation for this position is at least $20.00/hour (consistent with recent fall internship rates).
