Title: Anthropologie Senior Designer - Weddings Location: Philadelphia United States Job Family Design Employee Type Regular Position Type Full-Time Remote No Job Description: Role Summary We are seeking a visionary Senior Designer to join our fast growing Anthropologie Weddings team. You'll support the Bridal and Occasion design team with overall trend and direction for designs each season with a forward thinking eye, an expert hand in construction, and deep passion for craftmanship. You'll mentor emerging talent, and collaborate across buying, production, and technical design to deliver collections that feel both fashion-forward and deeply Anthropologie. This is a hybrid position that will require travel to the Philadelphia office 2-3 days each week. Role Responsibilities - Collaborate with the Assistant Design Director each season to define the seasonal trend and design direction for the bridal and occasion category, balancing innovation with commercial awareness and the DNA of Anthropologie. - Source and develop fabrics that help to push the product assortment forwards from a quality and novelty perspective. Collaborate with partners in product development to manage lead-time, minimum order requirements, and costing constraints. - Communicate fit and construction details to Technical Design. Complete technical sketches for domestic and overseas programs, with in depth construction and design details. - Work closely with print and color teams on direction and approvals from sampling through to production. - Travel to factories for development and execution of programs when needed. - Manage weekly fittings. - Lead & Inspire; manage and mentor Assistant Designer, fueling creativity, fostering collaboration, and supporting needs of the team. - Own the process, oversee everything from concept sketch to final sample, including fabric sourcing, trims, construction, and fittings. - Great cross-functional collaboration skills; partner with Buying, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure beautiful product. - Deliver compelling presentations of designs to leadership and cross functional teams at sketch, and sample review meetings. - Stay ahead of trends; Shop markets, and research globally. Take photos and purchase samples for inspiration and translate cultural and runway moments into designs our customer will love. Role Qualifications - The ability to recognize and accurately forecast fashion and cultural trends. Including color direction, fabric innovation, and silhouette newness approximately 9-12 months ahead. - Creative Vision: Have the vision to identify trends in their early stages and understand their impact to fashion. Have creative ideas that give Anthropologie a point of difference so we can be one step ahead for the aspirational customer. - Excellent communication skills with an ability to articulate ideas clearly and inspire others. - Strong team leader, with the ability to work well cross functionally with other teams including, buying, print, product development, technical design etc. - Organizational skills necessary to manage multiple tasks and projects, and complete them within deadlines. - Excellent hand sketching and/or CAD skills in Illustrator and Photoshop. - Comprehensive knowledge of apparel construction, with a focus on dresses, and gowns. - Thorough understanding of manufacturing techniques and processes. - Experience with embellishment design, and fabric innovation. - Leadership skills to inspire teams with energy, clarity and vision with the ability to manage workload and delegate daily direction to the team. WELD is seeking a junior quantitative and/or qualitative researcher (Step 1/ Research track) to work on a range of education and workforce projects, including apprenticeships, postsecondary student success, and career pathways in K12. What You’ll Do: A substantial amount of the successful candidate’s time will be spent organizing and analyzing education datasets, including the following types of tasks: - Write computer programs that clean, merge, and efficiently store education datasets. - Standardize variable definitions to create panel datasets. - Write computer programs that analyze datasets for a variety of research projects, ranging from blogs to major reports. - Conduct background research (including literature reviews) and contribute to original data collection efforts (e.g., collecting information on states’ education policies). - Support qualitative site visits and observations.
