Role Description The Health Information Coder III is a senior-level inpatient coder with an advanced knowledge and skill set to utilize the ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS classification systems. The skill set extends to advanced knowledge and comprehension of code sequences into Diagnoses Related Groups. Cases are coded to comply with the official guidelines for coding and reporting, practice standards, and code of ethics for HIMS coder. Cases are abstracted according to UCSF Health policies and procedures. The focus of coding and abstracting is on a range of all primary hospital services. Note: We are offering a new hire sign-on bonus of $2,000. All external new hires who have not worked for a UC in the last 12 months are eligible. Role Description The National Clinician Consultation Center (NCCC) HIV/Viral Hepatitis Clinical Education Specialist will be responsible for providing clinical education to NCCC’s external users/learners via the program’s teleconsultation services and public-facing resources. - Utilize clinical acumen and practice experience on HIV, viral hepatitis, and substance use care to provide clinical education directly to NCCC users. - Answer incoming calls from clinicians nationally regarding HIV, viral hepatitis, and other key co-occurring conditions (e.g., substance use/behavioral health disorders). - Perform administrative/operational duties accompanying the role as an educator with the NCCC. - Collect and document relevant education/training activity information for accurate reporting. - Prepare materials to distribute to callers. - Participate in quality improvement meetings and related activities (e.g., internal training sessions on emerging topics). - Assist with relevant regulatory activities to ensure program compliance. - Education domains may include best and emerging practices in HIV/viral hepatitis/SUD-related patient care. - Work with allied professionals to deliver team-based care in these areas. - Understand impacts of systems/policy changes on health care delivery for people living with HIV/viral hepatitis/SUD.
