• The VP of Safety and Compliance serves as the primary authority on Safety and Department of Transportation regulations across all TransForce divisions. • This role is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and improving the safety and compliance programs for TransForce. • This role ensures adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, particularly those governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). • Support customer safety initiatives, promote a culture of safety, and drive operational excellence across internal operations and customer engagements. • Work directly with customers and prospective customers, providing insights on how TransForce’s approach to safety and compliance can support their operations. • Develop and execute a comprehensive safety strategy, aligned with regulatory requirements, including programs to support TransForce’s safety record, training program, incident response, and compliance audits. • Utilize data to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and improve upon TransForce’s current positive safety culture. • Provide in-depth analysis of safety and compliance data and make recommendations for improvement. • Lead coaching and retraining initiatives for drivers flagged for unsafe behaviors or involved in incidents, using telematics and feedback data. • Ensure consistent enforcement of safety policies and procedures across all branches and client sites. • Coordinate and lead regular safety meetings and training sessions for drivers, staff, and customers. • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and compliance documentation. • Analyze safety data trends including violations, incidents, and near misses to identify risk areas and recommend proactive improvement measures. • Oversee internal investigations of all reportable accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective measures with drivers and customers to prevent recurrence. • Monitor and manage FMCSA Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) scores and develop strategies to improve safety performance. • Develop and maintain emergency response protocols for accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and other critical events. • Conduct regular internal audits and partner with clients to ensure safety standards are upheld in all placements. • Oversee the compliance function and ensure adherence to FMCSA regulations and state specific laws. • Monitor and advise on Hours of Service (HOS) compliance. • Liaise with customers to address violations with corrective actions. • Identify updates in federal, state, and local laws and work with operations and HR to develop and implement policies and programs. • Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and resolution of safety incidents.
