Role Description Join the Tilt team. At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're not just changing how people access financial products — we're creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward. The scope is specific: - File 35 new state license applications. - Support the onboarding of two new control people. - Help transition license management from an external platform to an in-house system. The first eight weeks are intensive — roughly 30 hours/week — with a clear deliverable and a defined finish line. After that, the role continues at around 10 hours/week: ongoing support for renewals and regulatory reporting on a schedule that genuinely flexes around your life. This role doesn't require a compliance background. It requires someone who is exceptionally organized, reliable, and finds real satisfaction in doing detailed administrative work well. What You'll Do - Own the license application sprint. - Manage end-to-end submission of 35 new state license applications — tracking deadlines, coordinating data requests, and ensuring every filing is complete and accurate across jurisdictions. - Support control person onboarding. - Coordinate the addition of two new control people to existing licenses, navigating each state's specific requirements with care and precision. - Drive the in-house transition. - Help move license management off the external platform and into our internal system — documenting processes as you go so the function is self-sustaining when you're done. - Manage ongoing renewals. - After the initial sprint wraps, provide steady part-time support for annual license renewals and regulatory reporting obligations. - Write clear process documentation. - Create step-by-step instructions for board members on their licensing obligations — written for non-specialists, not lawyers. Qualifications - Exceptional project coordination: able to manage 35+ concurrent workstreams, track deadlines across jurisdictions, and close information gaps without being chased. - Strong written communication — specifically the ability to write instructions a non-specialist can follow without hand-holding. - Comfort with a variable workload. Hours range from 4–20/week depending on filing cycles; you don't need constant volume to stay on top of things. - Background in detail-heavy operational work — events coordination, government filings, permitting, legal ops, or similar environments translates directly. - A self-starter who can operate independently, recognize when to escalate, and doesn't need a pre-built process to get started. - No prior licensing or compliance experience required. Requirements - Hours: ~30/week for the first ~8 weeks, then ~10–15/week ongoing (average ~10 hrs/week). - Duration: Indefinite. - Location: Remote (US-based). Benefits - Virtual-first teamwork: The Tilt team is collaborating across 14 countries, 12 time zones, and counting. You’ll get started with a WFH office reimbursement. - Competitive pay: We're big on potential, and it's reflected in our competitive compensation packages and generous equity. - Complete support: Find flexible health plans at every premium level, and substantial subsidies that stand up to global standards. - Visibility is yours: You can count on direct exposure to our leadership team — we’re a team where good ideas travel quickly. - Paid global onsites: Magic happens IRL: we gather twice yearly to reconnect over shared meals or kayaking adventures. (We’ve visited Vail, San Diego, and Mexico City, to name a few.) - Impact is recognized: Growth opportunities follow your contributions, not rigid promotion timelines. Company Description We're looking for people who chase excellence and impact. Those who stand behind their work, celebrating the wins and learning from the missteps equally. We foster an environment where every voice is valued and mutual respect is non-negotiable — brilliant jerks need not apply. We're in this together, working to expand access to fair credit and prove that people are incredible.
