About the Role The Associate Editorial Content Director serves as a primary editorial and content strategist, and an integral part of the Alloy PR team. In this role, the Associate Director collaborates on the strategic annual and quarterly planning and execution of the client’s PR strategy, with a focus on content strategy and creation. This includes planning and developing compelling content to support the client’s strategic marketing objectives and business goals, while mapping content to the client’s overarching narrative. Reporting to the VP of PR, the Associate Director is a strong collaborator, working closely with other members of the PR team, as well as client partners, project managers and other content creators, and other department strategists (e.g. SEO, paid, digital) to ensure the highest quality and effectiveness of content that is created. The ideal candidate brings extensive agency experience and a demonstrated ability to bridge a creative, storytelling approach with data-driven results. Beyond simply writing, you develop compelling content that drives search engine results, secures significant media coverage, and thrives within the landscape of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). The Details - Thought Leadership: Lead the strategy, planning, and development of thought leadership content based on company narrative, goals, and market trends as the leader in the space. These could take a wide range of forms including, but not limited to media bylines, interviews, blogs, speaking abstracts, Q&As, etc. - Editorial Management & Content Strategy: Lead the content strategy for clients including identifying and collaborating with subject matter experts to develop personal narratives and swimlanes. This includes developing and implementing a content strategy that merges traditional marketing with compelling storytelling and in-depth analysis, utilizing journalistic techniques to engage readers. - Content Creation: Create a diverse range of content, including investigative industry trends and narrative-driven articles showcasing clients’ subject matter expertise, influence and differentiators. Apply journalistic principles across various content forms, maintaining accuracy, relevance, and engagement on all platforms. This includes cultivating relationships with industry experts and thought leaders to introduce unique insights and perspectives into content. - Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the PR team and client team to develop and implement a content roadmap that supports business objectives. This also includes collaboration with other external Alloy stakeholders, such as SEO/paid/digital, to explore and implement innovative ways to scale content production and distribution, incorporating AI and other technologies to drive efficiencies. - Passionate Curiosity: Demonstrates a passion to research, explore, and implement best practices for content development - such as AI, AEO, SEO, GEO, etc. - that will enable Alloy to deliver innovative work and help shape the future of content delivery. Required Qualifications - Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels and manage projects that involve multiple stakeholders, steps, and assets. - Strategic thinker and problem-solver who can align content work with project and program goals. - Proven track record of high-quality content production and editing across multiple platforms under strict timelines, including the management of several concurrent projects. - Understanding of how Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) impact content development and the ability to ensure content is structured to be cited by LLMs (like Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT). - Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and coordinate among various partners and constituencies, both internal and external, to establish and further collaborative initiatives. - Familiarity with and ability to leverage digital tools - such as Meltwater, SEMRush and Google Analytics - to assess market trends and content performance as a basis for planning. - Familiarity with team collaboration and project management tools like Slack and Microsoft Teams in a marketing agency. - Superb verbal and written communication skills, with excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail. - Proficiency in consistently applying institutional brand and established editorial style guidelines. - Minimum of 6-10 years of experience - Ideal candidate will have experience across various B2B technology industries including but not limited to healthcare/healthcare IT, cybersecurity, financial services/fintech and SaaS
