ROLE TITLE: School Site Director, Homedale, Idaho Location: ID - Idaho Part time Job Description: TEAM: Pre-Service Idaho LOCATION: Idaho WHAT YOU’LL DO The School Site Director is the regional representative throughout Pre-Service who holds the “bird’s eye view” of the in-person, school-based Corps Member experience. They are responsible for building and strengthening the culture of their summer school site during Pre-Service. The School Site Director can collaborate strategically with stakeholders, such as regional personnel and school site administration, to address challenges at the regional level as they arise. This individual is responsible for managing Corps Member and school partner risk & policy and school operations. They are critical in providing cohesion across virtual programmatic structures and school-based operations that impact the staff and corps member experience. Given that our region will host an in-person Practicum, being able to drive to schools is essential. As such, this role requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one before the first day of employment. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Spring Training - Design, internalize, and develop a deep understanding of the school-based systems you’ll execute with your school partner in the summer - Collaborate with the Regional Point of Contact, School Operations Manager, and MDLD(s) at your school site to create a culture plan and ensure logistics are clear to Corps Members and staff - Proactively build relationships with other staff members to understand and shape the summer experience - Complete the required synchronous and asynchronous training to meet the needs of your role - Work with your Regional Point of Contact and school partner to complete the tasks on the Practicum risk & policy checklist Corps Member Training & Practicum - Design, implement, and/or manage systems with school partners to execute general support, including administrative, logistical, and manual projects (such as attendance, data collection, scheduling, meetings, etc.) in alignment with our core values and mission to maximize efficiency and ensure Corps Member and staff needs are met - Design and execute a strong culture plan in partnership with the regional team - Serve as the on-site TFA point of contact for Corps Members and staff - Maintain and dispense supplies to Corps Members and staff - Support Operations Specialists and School Operations Managers around the Corps Member communications, day-to-day logistics, Corps Member attendance, and other systems/structures, including the implementation of approved participant disability accommodations - Manage all school-based risk & policy for your region during Pre-Service, including responding to breaches to Corps Member and staff culture, in partnership with the central TFA team and alignment with risk & policy guidance outlined by the National team - Lead your school team toward both practicum and Pre-Service outcomes, and ensure Corps Member development, investment, and collaboration across Pre-Service - Proactively liaise with school partners to anticipate and respond to school-based needs as they arise throughout the summer A WEEK IN THE LIFE - Launch Spring Training, collaborating on culture plans and logistics, and completing Practicum risk & policy tasks. - Manage Corps Member logistics, serve as onsite TFA contact, and support School Operations Manager(s) in day-to-day tasks. - Participate in ongoing training, refine systems for efficiency, conduct check-ins, and address emerging challenges collaboratively. - Anticipate summer needs, review risk & policy tasks, collaborate regionally, and ensure preparations for successful outcomes. - Foster programmatic cohesion, evaluate progress, reinforce culture plans, adjust schedules, and ensure alignment for a successful Pre-Service experience. - Supporting MDLDs and/or Leadership Development Coaches to develop an orientation towards inclusive practices and making connections between their work and the other aspects of Pre-Service programming YOUR EXPERIENCE Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications): - Bachelor's degree required, 3 years of educational experience - One or more years of teaching, Institute/Pre-Service experience or operations experience preferred - Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with multiple parties to achieve strong outcomes - Enjoys coaching and developing others via both 1:1 and group methods - Experience synthesizing trends across large amounts of data and recommending and leading actions based on trends - Knowledge of the application of adult learning principles within adult learning experiences - Enjoys managing results through others and ensuring their alignment with outcomes - Adeptness with Zoom and other virtual platforms - Ability to work occasional weekend or evening work hours required for Spring Training, Corps Member Training, and Practicum COMPENSATION The seasonal School Director role is compensated $31.15/hour throughout the entire commitment. Role Description We are looking for an experienced and DESE-approved SEI instructor to serve as the Director, Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Instructor. In this role, you will teach one to two 30-35 student sections of the DESE-approved SEI course to our 2026 corps members in the summer of 2026. You will be responsible for leading up to two virtual sections of the course per week and following up with corps members as needed. You will be responsible for grading assignments in accordance with DESE rubrics. The goal is to ensure that 100% of our 2026 corps members earn their Sheltered English Immersion endorsement at the end of the course. The courses will meet weekly from July 8 to September 23, with additional time for capstone presentations. Responsibilities - Planning and Execution - Using DESE-provided course materials and the TFA summer calendar, create a plan to deliver the SEI course, in collaboration with the MA team. - Collaborate with TFAM to ensure all course materials, assignments, rubrics, etc., are on our Learning Management System (LMS). - Communicate course expectations, calendar, and procedures with corps members and the Massachusetts (MA) team. - Teach 1-2 virtual sections of the course per week. - Share makeup work and track progress for corps members. - Grade corps members' submissions (e.g., SIRs, capstone) using DESE provided rubrics and provide final grades for the course for all corps members. - Attend meetings with TFA staff to identify trends in learning and make adjustments where possible. - Systems Management and Logistics - Maintain attendance tracking and communicate attendance with TFA staff in a timely and accurate manner. - Email reminders to corps members with advance notice of meeting dates, times, agendas, and pre-work by the designated date. - Submit timesheets at the end of each month. - Collaboration with the Teach For America staff - Engage in responsive and ongoing communication with Teach For America staff. - Demonstrate dedication to continuously improving effectiveness. A Week in the Life - Meeting with the TFAM SEI course lead to discuss the course and corps members’ progress. - Prepping for and teaching virtual section(s) of the course. - Grading the corps member's work and providing feedback. - Communicating with corps members and TFAM staff about corps member progress. Qualifications - A pre-approved SEI Endorsement course instructor. Bonus (Preferred Qualifications) - MA or CAGS in English as a Second Language. - Experience with virtual facilitation. - Experience supporting novice educators. - Fluency in a language other than English. - Knowledge of the WIDA standards and the MA Curriculum Frameworks. - Exceptional ability to build and execute a project plan. - Ability to make timely decisions and demonstrate good judgment. - Ability to build strong relationships with others in challenging situations. - Exceptional written and verbal communication and facilitation skills. - Ability to translate data into actionable solutions. Your Future Team You will sit on the Teach For America Massachusetts regional team and work closely with the Managing Director, Learning & Development Design and Training, and SMD, Program Strategy & Impact. In addition, you will collaborate with the MA Managing Directors of Leadership Development (MDLDs) who support our corps members. The goal of these teams is to ensure our 2026 corps members are committed, in community, and confident for their first day of school. Compensation The Director, SEI Instructor role is compensated at $44.52 per hour throughout the entire commitment, with an estimated time commitment of 130-150 hours per SEI section.
