Quality Assurance Officer

Role Description Surrey Place is seeking a detail-oriented student to join our team as a Quality Assurance Officer. In this entry-level role, you will work side-by-side with our team of developers to ensure our digital products are accessible, user-friendly, and function flawlessly. This is a learning-intensive role where your classroom knowledge of accessibility standards, user experience (UX) principles, and testing methodologies will be applied in a real-world setting. Prior industry experience is not required but an asset. Main Responsibilities - Perform accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 guidelines, conduct screen reader walkthroughs, keyboard-only navigation audits, and document remediation steps with severity and recommended fixes for engineering. - Conduct A/B and multivariate experiment analyses in partnership with Dev teams to validate design hypotheses, set up experiment instrumentation, and measure impact on conversion, retention, and key UX metrics. - Participate in user feedback sessions, internal product discussions, and design critiques. - Support responsive design efforts to ensure optimal user experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. - Assist in conducting UX research to understand user needs and behaviors. Qualifications - Post-secondary education is preferred. - A diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Information Systems, Software Development, Web Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required. - Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. - Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet assigned deadlines. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Ability to obtain and maintain an acceptable Police Records Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screening. - Fluency in French is considered an asset. Eligibility - Must be between 15 and 30 years of age. - Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. - Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with applicable provincial or territorial legislation and regulations. Role Description Surrey Place is seeking a summer student with an interest in business systems and collaboration tools to join our team as a Software Developer. In this entry-level role, you will work alongside a team of developers to help configure, maintain, and improve our SharePoint Intranet solutions. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where your classroom knowledge of information systems, web technologies, or software development will be applied to real business needs. Prior industry experience is an asset but not required. Main Responsibilities - Planning and re-configuring SharePoint Intranet solutions based on user requirements. - Adjusting SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows to create an efficient Intranet. - Integrating SharePoint with other Surrey Place business applications. - Providing technical support for SharePoint users. - Monitoring SharePoint performance and troubleshooting issues. - Analyzing and resolving information technology problems. - Reviewing usage and activity reports and making adjustments to ensure optimized user experiences. Administrative Assistant

Role Description The Administrative Assistant provides essential coordination and administrative support to the DSO Service Navigation/Assessor team, ensuring efficient client flow and accurate information management. This role is responsible for supporting client intake processes, coordinating assessment appointments, maintaining data integrity, and facilitating communication with clients, caregivers, and partner organizations. The position plays a key role in delivering timely and client-centered services within a fast-paced environment. Main Responsibilities - Triage the client waitlist to identify the next candidates to be contacted for their assessment meetings. - Contact Client/Caregiver's to coordinate meetings including explaining the process, reviewing forms to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming assessment meetings. - Manage and access a cancellation list for rescheduling meetings. - Prepare the Welcome Package to be sent out to clients in preparation for their meeting. - Access data base(s) to update client information including current contact information and contacts. - Digitize forms that need to be transferred to database file. - Securely transfer files via database portal to partner DSOs as needed. - Provide support to the Service Navigation Team with data migration projects. - Knowledge and understanding and or lived experience with Developmental Disabilities. Role Description Surrey Place is seeking a motivated Development Officer to support the Philanthropy team in advancing fundraising and donor engagement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in donor relations, event planning, communications, and data management. Working closely with the philanthropy team, the officer helps strengthen relationships with donors and community partners to further the organization’s mission. This role is a great introduction to non-profit management, including how non-profits govern, operate and fundraise. Main Responsibilities - Assist with donor stewardship activities, including preparing thank-you letters and updating donor records. - Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns. - Conduct research on prospective donors and community partners. - Support grant and funder applications. - Create and update communication materials such as newsletters. - Provide administrative support, including data entry, scheduling, and filing.
