Role Description You are a senior backend engineer with a custody and key-management background. You will be a foundational engineer on the company's custody platform, reporting to the Custody Platform Lead. You will: - Ship production custody code across signing service, key management, chain integrations, and the transaction pipeline. - Own a chain or a subsystem. Within 3 months you should own a meaningful surface end-to-end (a chain integration, a signing-service component, a key-rotation flow). - Pair with the Custody Platform Lead and our in-house cryptography function on threshold signing, share generation, and key recovery flows. - Write post-mortems when things break. We treat these as architecture-improvement opportunities, not blame exercises. - Integrate new chains: Bitcoin, Ethereum and L2s, Solana, and an active onboarding queue. - Engage in async written communication: Spec docs, PR descriptions, async design reviews. Qualifications - 5-plus years of backend engineering, with the last 2-plus years on a custody platform or a key management system at a regulated entity. General fintech does not substitute. - Hands-on with at least one of: - HSM lifecycle (CloudHSM, YubiHSM, Ledger Vault, similar). - MPC / TSS (Fireblocks-style, Sepior, ZenGo, Curv-style). - Threshold signing schemes (GG18, GG20, FROST, CGGMP21, CMP). - Production experience with one or more of: - Bitcoin (UTXO model, PSBT). - Ethereum (EIP-712, EIP-1559, account abstraction). - At least one non-EVM Layer 1 (Solana, Sui, Cosmos SDK chain, similar). - Reads Solidity, Move, or Rust well enough to integrate with new chains without hand-holding. - Strong async written communication. Your PR threads, design docs, and intro reply are themselves a signal. - English fluency. Requirements - Experience with travel-rule / FATF compliance integrations (Notabene, Sumsub, TRP, IVMS101). - Authored or contributed to an EIP, BIP, or chain RFC. - Audit-contest finalist on Code4rena, Sherlock, or Cantina. - Familiarity with regulated-financial controls: dual-control, four-eyes, M-of-N approvals, SOC 2 evidence collection. This is not the right role if - Only frontend / dApp experience, no backend custody or key-management depth. - "Crypto trader who codes." Algorithmic trading without custody experience. - Anyone whose entire blockchain experience is a single hackathon, bootcamp, or DeFi side project. - Currently subject to a non-compete blocking digital-asset custody for more than 6 months. Stack - Backend: Go primary. Some Rust, some TypeScript. Aurora Postgres and ClickHouse. Temporal for orchestration. - Cryptography: in-house MPC stack (TSS-based), HSM integrations, multi-chain signing service. - Chains: Bitcoin, Ethereum and L2s, Solana, active onboarding queue. - Infra: AWS, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions CI, Terraform. - Security posture: SOC 2 Type II in motion, SAMA-aligned, intent toward ISO 27001 and dual-control workflows. Location, visa, relocation - Location: Riyadh, open to Remote Opportunity. - Time-zone band: UTC-1 to UTC+5 for meaningful Saudi-hours overlap. - Relocation (optional): if the candidate elects to relocate to Riyadh, we’ll support sponsorship. - Tax / payroll: KSA payroll for relocators. Contractor or Employer-of-Record for remote-international.

Role Description The role involves owning the cryptographic core of the Company’s custody platform: - Scheme ownership: Select, justify, and evolve the MPC / TSS scheme family we run in production (CGGMP21, FROST, GG18 / GG20, lattice variants, future post-quantum threshold schemes). - Protocol reviews: Author and shepherd scheme-review documents. Sit in audit conversations with Trail of Bits, NCC Group, Zellic, or equivalent. - Production implementation: Read and write Rust and Go cryptographic code. Pair with the custody engineering team on signing-service performance, share generation, key rotation, and recovery flows. - Incident response: When a paper, advisory, or competitor disclosure changes our threat model, you write the response and propose the fix. - External representation: Speak at IACR venues, RWC, Real World MPC, ZKProof. Publish work that the company allows you to publish. - Internal teaching: Lift the cryptographic literacy of the engineering organization. Run paper-reading sessions. Mentor IC engineers who want to grow into cryptographic specializations. You are not the entire cryptography team. You are the first dedicated cryptographer. Inside 18 to 24 months we expect to grow this function to a small team and you will hire the next people. Qualifications - 8-plus years of applied cryptography practice, with at least 4 years on threshold signing, MPC, secret sharing, or related primitives shipped in production at a regulated entity. - Hands-on with at least one of: GG18, GG20, FROST, CGGMP21, DKLs23, BLS threshold, lattice-based threshold (Raccoon, Sparkle, equivalent), or a comparable scheme family. You have implemented it, not just read the paper. - Production code in Rust or Go. Not just research code. Mainline branches that hold real customer assets. - Public technical artifact. At minimum one of: an IACR ePrint, RWC / CRYPTO / EUROCRYPT / ASIACRYPT talk, a maintainer role on an open-source MPC library (cggmp21, multi-party-ecdsa, ZKP libraries, lattice libraries, equivalent), or a public scheme-review writeup. - Has been through one regulated-audit cycle as the cryptography-side owner. SOC 2, NYDFS DFS Part 500, FCA, MAS, VARA, OCC, FINMA, or equivalent. - Communicates research clearly to engineers who are not cryptographers. You can write a one-page explainer of a primitive that a Senior IC will internalize in 30 minutes. - English fluency. Written and verbal. Requirements - PhD in cryptography from a recognized program. - Co-authorship on a paper that has been cited by a deployed system you can point to. - Experience reviewing or contributing to NIST submissions (post-quantum signature competition, multi-party threshold cryptography call). - Open-source maintainer credentials on cggmp21, multi-party-ecdsa, libthreshold, mpc-lib, FRESCO, sl crypto, dkls23, or equivalent. - Has co-designed a scheme that was implemented by a third party. - Comfort with lattice cryptography and post-quantum threshold variants. This is not the right role if - "Blockchain engineer" with no published cryptography work. Wrong specialism. - ZK-only background with no MPC / TSS experience. We touch ZK in narrow places but the core function is threshold signing. - Hash-and-sign Solidity developer with no protocol-level cryptography depth. - Founder of a failed Layer-1 chain looking for a Chief Scientist seat. - Currently subject to a non-compete that blocks custody / MPC work for more than 6 months.

Role Description The Head of Engineering is the operational leader of that function. You will partner closely with the CTO, who owns technical strategy and architectural direction for the custody platform. You will own everything it takes to get great engineers in the door, set them up to do their best work, and ship a regulated-grade platform on a predictable cadence. - Team build and hire. - Top of funnel through closing offers. Comp bands, levels framework, performance cycles, and headcount planning into Series A and beyond. - Engineering operations. - On-call, incident command, post-mortem culture, code-review standards, deployment hygiene, release cadence. - Delivery. - Translate the technical roadmap into quarter-over-quarter delivery against named outcomes. Surface and close execution risk early. - Audit and regulator-facing engineering posture. - SOC 2 Type II completion, SAMA-aligned controls, future ISO 27001 and regulatory licensing readiness. - Cross-functional leadership. - Partner with Product, Compliance, Security, and the CTO on roadmap, sequencing, and trade-offs. - Engineering culture. - Hiring bar, internal mobility, professional growth, retention. Make us a place senior engineers stay and recommend. You are not fixing a broken organization. The team is small, healthy, and specialized. Your job is to amplify it, not restructure it. Qualifications - 7 to 12 years total software engineering experience. - 4-plus years on a custody platform or key management system at a regulated entity. - Hands-on credibility with at least one of: HSM lifecycle management, MPC / TSS systems, or threshold signing protocols. - Has owned a team of 15+ engineers at peak. - Hired 10-plus engineers personally, including at least one Senior-plus leader. - Owned the engineering side of one SOC 2 Type II or equivalent regulated audit cycle. - On-call experience on a production custody or payments system that moved real money. - Articulates a leadership philosophy unprompted, with at least one example of changing your mind on it. - Comfortable working with a hands-on, technical CTO. - English fluency, written and verbal. Requirements - Direct regulator-interface experience as the engineering-side representative (SAMA, NYDFS, FCA, MAS, VARA, OCC, FINMA, BoE). - Authored or contributed to a public technical standard, RFC, IACR paper, or audit-facing trust-center publication. - Open-source authorship in custody-relevant primitives (MPC libraries, signing services, key-management tooling). - Has run an acquisition integration: M&A engineering diligence and post-deal team merge. - Comfort with Go (our primary backend language) and Rust (custody-critical paths). - Has held a Head of Engineering or VP Engineering title before. Benefits - A foundational seat in the GCC's emerging digital-asset infrastructure platform. - Direct ownership of the engineering organization you help build, with founder-level access. - A real custody platform moving institutional capital today, not a research prototype. - Headquartered in Riyadh, at the center of the most ambitious regional financial expansion in the world.
