Director of Agricultural Policy

• Lead the U.S. federal policy strategy for the Enteric and Nitrogen programs, in support of the Enteric and Nitrogen Program strategies • Develop multi-year policy plans that support each program's strategy, accounting for the U.S. agricultural policy opportunity landscape and refreshing it as the political environment evolves • Draft policy proposals, legislative language, and supporting analytical memos for federal RD&D and deployment policy, including marker legislation (e.g., CATTLE Act for enteric) and proposals targeting USDA conservation, risk management, and clean fuels programs (EQIP, CSP, RCPP, 45Z, SAFs) for nitrogen • Engage directly with Congressional offices, USDA, EPA, and other federal agencies on annual appropriations authorizing legislation, and rulemaking • Lead trade-association alignment work for the Nitrogen program and support coalition engagement for the Enteric program, including establishing partnerships with new members • Advise on state-level engagement where high-leverage • Advise on international policy engagement opportunities as relevant • Partner with Spark's Senior Policy Manager on cross-program priorities such as SLCP framing and support for broader policy frameworks • Represent Spark in policy convenings, congressional briefings, and partner forums
Program Manager, Agricultural Nitrogen Transformation

• Design, manage, and execute a portfolio of complex initiatives (e.g., regranting programs, workshops, research collaborations, and multi-institutional projects), from scoping through delivery and evaluation. • Contribute to the development and implementation of program strategy, ensuring alignment across initiatives, projects, and field-building activities. • Organize and coordinate field-building activities, such as workshops, panels, and webinars. • Provide scientific guidance to the program to ensure initiatives, projects, and external communications are technically rigorous and strategically sound. • Conduct interviews, primary research, and/or synthesize research to inform program strategy, and contribute to roadmaps, briefs, reports, or peer-reviewed publications. • Support the Program Director in tracking field development and research prioritization by synthesizing project outcomes and key learnings. • Represent Spark’s Agricultural Nitrogen Transformation Program at key external events, including conferences and workshops.
Communications Specialist

• Produce content in collaboration with Spark’s Strategic Communications Lead, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, messaging guidance, and audience needs: draft blogs, fact sheets, programmatic updates, website copy, slide decks, fundraising materials, and social media posts in support of Spark’s organizational and program communications. • Execute social media outreach—drafting, coordinating internal review/feedback, and scheduling of posts across LinkedIn and other platforms, maintaining consistent cadence and quality. • Manage email newsletter production: writing and editing copy, coordinating with the Strategic Communications Lead and program teams on content. • Supporting the development and ongoing maintenance of Spark’s internal content library, including program toplines, slide packages, key stats, templates, and photo/graphics repositories. Help ensure materials remain current, organized, and easily accessible to program and leadership teams. • Manage routine content updates on Spark’s website, which will be redeveloped and relaunched this year. • Assist program teams with preparation of slide decks, info sheets, and other programmatic communications materials as needed.
