What you'll do: - The Medication Refill Nurse will provide Registered Nursing services to Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians within the Scripps Medical Foundation (SMF) clinics. - These services include all duties associated with prescription refills (per standardized protocols). - Reviews, validates, and processes medication renewals timely based on approved protocols. - The RN is responsible for researching patient medication records and clinical information, communicating with patients, physicians, clinic staff and pharmacy staff. Contributes to the team as necessary in regards to Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: - Minimum 2 years of experience as an RN in a hospital or outpatient setting. - Knowledge of medications, their classes, and categories. - Requires excellent communication skills both oral and written, problem-solving, and follow-through. - Basic PC skills required. - Completion of an accredited RN program. Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: - Prior knowledge and experience utilizing EPIC electronic health records.
