Role Description The Associate Director, FP&A plays a critical role in driving analytical rigor across the firm, with a strong focus on business line profitability, capacity utilization, and pricing strategy. This role goes beyond traditional planning cycles to deliver deep insights into revenue drivers, cost structures, and operational efficiency, enabling leadership to optimize growth and profitability across client segments and service models. Key Responsibilities - Advanced Financial & Business Analysis - Lead profitability analysis across business lines and by office/region - Develop detailed models to evaluate revenue yield, cost-to-serve, and contribution margins - Support detailed MD&A analysis & identify key trends/insights on financial performance - Manage key KPIs such as utilization and capacity analysis, and revenue by office and lead - Lead pricing analysis by office/region - Support M&A related analysis - Financial Planning & Forecasting - Lead budgeting and forecasting processes with a focus on key value drivers - Oversee budget to actuals and variance analysis - Lead cash forecast modeling and cash flow management processes - Development of multi-year financial forecasts - Continuously improve forecast accuracy through data-driven insights and scenario analysis Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems or related field - 10+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance roles - Strong experience in financial services, preferably wealth or asset management - Private equity or investment banking experience strongly preferred - Advanced financial modeling and data analysis/modeling capabilities - Strong understanding of business line economics, cost allocation, and profitability frameworks - Experience analyzing capacity utilization, productivity metrics, and operational efficiency - Knowledge of pricing strategy, fee structures, and revenue optimization techniques, preferably in private equity funded/managed and AUM-based revenue structures - Advanced proficiency in Excel - Experience with Netsuite Planning & Budgeting and Netsuite Data Analytics Warehouse and PowerBi or equivalent preferred - Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders - Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and intellectual curiosity - Expanding experience with AI preferred, and interest in continuing to learn and grow in AI related skills Requirements - Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $145,000 - $170,000 per year. - The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. - The successful candidate(s) may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus award. Role Description - Manage end-to-end revenue accounting processes, including review, reconciliation, and reporting of advisory and professional services. - Ensure revenue recognition complies with U.S. GAAP, firm policies, and regulatory requirements applicable to wealth advisory firms. - Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue-related journal entries and account reconciliations. - Partner closely with operations, billing, compliance, and client advisor teams to ensure accurate fee calculation and recording. - Work closely and develop processes with our client transitions and FP&A teams on the revenue impact of net new business. - Oversee and validate calculations tied to revenue, including compensation related. - Serve as the primary revenue subject matter expert during internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules, walkthroughs, and audit support. - Identify, document, and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls over revenue calculations. - Analyze revenue trends and variances, providing clear explanations to senior leadership. - Support financial statement preparation and related disclosures involving revenue and receivables. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or CPA-track preferred) - Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant accounting experience, including revenue accounting and audit exposure - Prior experience in public accounting, external audit, or internal audit strongly preferred - Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness - Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy, especially in complex or high-volume data environments - Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently - Proficient in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills Requirements - Experience within a wealth management, investment advisory, financial services, or professional services firm - Experience working in an operating company under PE ownership - Familiarity with advisory fee structures, AUM-based billing, and revenue-related compliance considerations - Experience supporting SEC or AICPA audits - Experience with Netsuite and/or Blackline Key Competencies - Precision and accountability - Strong judgment and problem-solving skills - Clear written and verbal communication - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally - Commitment to data integrity, accuracy, and continuous improvement Pay Transparency Pathstone’s expected starting base compensation range for the position as of the time of this posting is $110,000 - $125,000 per year. The actual base compensation selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including (but not limited to) experience, education, specialty and training. Draft letters of instruction, complete account applications, manager agreements, and fund subscription documents, organize supporting documentation, and follow the process through in tandem with the firm’s Capital Markets Group.
• Own and manage the marketing program roadmap, ensuring alignment across initiatives, teams, and timelines. • Translate strategic priorities into clear programs, phases, milestones, and dependencies. • Identify risks, resourcing needs, and sequencing challenges early—and manage them proactively. • Ensure the right work is happening at the right time, for the right reasons. • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the project and program management systems used by the marketing team. • Establish clear workflows, standards, and operating rhythms that support visibility and accountability. • Ensure projects, initiatives, and tasks are clearly defined, assigned, tracked, and completed. • Create simple, effective mechanisms for prioritization, progress tracking, and reporting. • Serve as the primary project manager for select, high-priority efforts. • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and task ownership. • Hold team members accountable to agreed-upon responsibilities, deadlines, and deliverables. • Surface risks, slippage, or misalignment early and constructively. • Support leadership with concise, actionable updates and insights.
