Target hiring range for this position will be between $95,000-$100,000 per year. Job Summary The Associate Director of Major Gifts will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and soliciting major gift support from a prospect pool of alumni, friends, and family members in the New York tri-state area. This frontline fundraiser will develop and manage a fluid portfolio of prospects through qualification visits, cultivation efforts and customized solicitations that align with prospect interests and financial capacity. This position collaborates with colleagues across Alumni Relations and Development and the greater University, including deans, faculty, program directors, and other University volunteers to plan and execute compelling prospect meetings and solicitations of donors. The candidate must be a self-starter who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize multiple tasks. This is an ideal position for someone who is proactive, motivated, able to incorporate feedback, and demonstrates resilience in uncovering prospects to become loyal donors. The role will be based in Northwestern University’s New York Regional Office and will report to the Executive Director of Development, New York. Our office operates in a hybrid model and offers the option of working three days in the office and two days remote. There will be occasional work outside of standard business hours for donor engagement events. This role includes structured professional development through Plus Delta’s Discipline of Frontline Fundraising program, which provides high quality training to strengthen fundamental skills in donor cultivation, solicitation, portfolio management, and strategic relationship building. Additional ARD resources further connect Northwestern policies and processes with the best practices introduced in Plus Delta’s curriculum. Specific Responsibilities: Strategic Planning - Gathers data, assesses leads, and develops strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects. - Maintains consistent and appropriate contact. - Facilitates or makes direct solicitations. - Ensures effective stewardship. Collaboration - Involves moderate- to-high-level collaboration with both internal department partners and moderate level of collaboration with broader University partners to identify & integrate resources to accomplish strategic goals & objectives. Prospects & Gifts - Develops, plans, and implements strategies and approaches to identify, personally solicit, and steadily close major gifts of six-figures or more. - Collaborates with New York Major Gift and Donor Engagement teams and other areas of alumni relations and development, including Schools & Programs and Planned Gifts, to coordinate donor strategies. - Builds a portfolio through discovery and qualification with a target of 40 prospects at a time. Manages portfolio by strategically moving them through the major gift pipeline. - Secures visits with prospects and effectively articulates University fundraising priorities to gauge donor interest and capacity. - Collects and synthesizes information from a wide array of sources to prepare compelling donor proposals that strategically align with donor interests and their full philanthropic capacity. - Oversees and completes associated stewardship activities, maintains up-to-date best practices, and evaluates closed projects. - Gathers, records, and retrieves information about prospects and donors utilizing University’s donor and alumni database, internet, meetings with development staff, faculty, etc. - Prepares contact reports on meetings and interactions with alumni. Title: Faculty Services & Law Journals Librarian Location: Chicago United States Job Description: Department: Law Library Faculty Services and Law Journals Librarian The Pritzker Legal Research Center of Northwestern Pritzker School of Law invites applications for a full-time position of Faculty Services & Law Journals Librarian. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Faculty Services & Law Journals Librarian will join a team of experienced reference librarians who provide research support services to the law school and university communities. The Faculty Services & Law Journals Librarian will provide administrative support and strategic direction for the activities, production, and management of seven student-edited journals with a legacy of over 100 years of scholarship. This is a hybrid position, subject to law school and university guidelines and operational needs, that currently permits up to two remote days a week, with standard Monday-Friday business hours. Specific duties of this position include the following: - Coordinates onboarding and initial outreach to new faculty members about library services and resources. - Participates in the faculty-librarian liaison program to provide research support to law school faculty members and consults with the Deputy Director to maintain the faculty-librarian liaison list for the PLRC. - Oversees the Pritzker Research Fellows program, which involves hiring and overseeing student fellows in providing research assistance on short-term research projects to faculty members. - Provides in-person and online reference services, including developing tutorials and guides. - Participates in educational and instructional programs, including class visits to the first-year research program, guest lectures and presentations, and informal programming such as workshops and library tours. - Oversees the publishing enterprise for the seven student-edited journals, including printing and publishing issues, author publication agreements and reprint requests, legal issues involving copyright and licensing content, and licenses with legal information vendors. - Provides direction and guidance to student editors on all aspects of journal production, including but not limited to, board management, production workflow and challenges, student conflicts, author disputes, compliance with policies, and other issues as they arise. - Administers and certifies journal credit during the fall and spring semesters. - Oversees and manages the annual provisional process and write-on process for prospective members with support by the Journals Program Assistant and Deputy Director. - Supervises the Journals Program Assistant in carrying out journal administrative support duties. - Advises journals on sharing communications about published issues, submissions cycles, symposia, and other events with the faculty, staff, and student listservs as appropriate. - Oversees board transitions, monitors journals activities, and provides training and guidance for students to run symposia, meetings, and other events. - In collaboration with the library's Financial Coordinator and Journals Program Assistant, oversees and manages the journals' budgets. - In collaboration with the Deputy Director, creates consistent processes and policies for all journals to best support the overall objectives of the law school. - Oversees compliance of journals and necessary reporting. - Advises on new journals initiatives and other journal-related academic activities, including but not limited to, credit for journals, note and comment academic compliance, and Lowden-Wigmore and Bienen Prizes. - Coordinates hiring, onboarding, and payment of summer clerks with Law School HR. - Facilitates maintenance of and updates to the journals' websites. - Establishes and fosters contacts with other professionals by participating in committee work and activities at Northwestern Pritzker Law, Northwestern University, and professional organizations. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data Job Summary: This position reports to the Executive Director of the West Coast Regional Office and is located in San Francisco. The Senior Associate Director of Major Gifts is responsible for managing a significant major gift donor portfolio consisting of alumni, friends, and parents in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Senior Associate Director will manage processes and prospects by building a balanced portfolio through qualifying visits, cultivating prospects, making solicitations that align with prospects' interests and financial capacity, securing commitments, and stewarding current donors. This position collaborates with colleagues across Alumni Relations and Development in Evanston and Chicago as well as with deans, faculty, program directors, and other University leaders to prepare them for prospect meetings and form a plan of solicitation of donors that includes coordinating with other development staff to align prospect passion, financial capacity, giving vehicle and/or identify stewardship opportunities for major donors. Travel is required to Evanston three times a year. This role includes structured professional development through Plus Delta's Discipline of Frontline Fundraising program, which provides high quality training to strengthen fundamental skills in donor cultivation, solicitation, portfolio management, and strategic relationship building. Additional ARD resources further connect Northwestern policies and processes with the best practices introduced in Plus Delta's curriculum. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office and offers two remote workdays. This position is located in San Francisco. Please note: Must be willing and able to travel and attend events that are held in the evenings and on weekends. Specific Responsibilities: Strategic Planning - Gathers data, assesses leads, and develops strategies designed to realize the current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects. - Maintains consistent and appropriate contact. - Facilitates or makes solicitations. - Closes major gifts for the University ($100K+). - Ensures effective stewardship. Collaboration - Involves high level of collaboration with both internal department and broader University partners to identify common goals and develop and execute strategies to increase integration. - Key partnerships and work involved includes: - Schools and Programs - Gift planning - Northwestern Alumni Association (NAA) - Northwestern University Leadership Circle (NULC) - Professional schools (Kellogg, Pritzker Law, and Feinberg) Prospects and Gifts - Builds a portfolio through discovery and qualification of approximately 40+ prospects annually in the region they are assigned to. - Identifies, researches, cultivates and personally solicits major gifts of $100K to $5M. - Requires travel throughout the region and 3-4 annual trips to Evanston. - Partners with other areas of development, specifically Annual and Planned Giving to coordinate contacts. - Researches and develops prospects including up-to-date knowledge on assigned groups and works with other areas of development to coordinate contacts.
